Hey guys!
Out of curiosity, why are economic degrees in the art faculty and not business?
Was this change recent? If yes, why?
Thanks :)

Yeah it was relatively recent. As to why, I haven't got a clue.

New Directions
On 1 January 2011, the University of Sydney began implementing a major new strategy in relation to teaching and research in business and the social sciences.

Under these changes, the Discipline of Economics, the Centre for International Security Studies and the Graduate School of Government - previously all in the Faculty of Economics and Business - moved to the Faculty of Arts, which was renamed the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. At the same time, the Faculty of Economics and Business was renamed The University of Sydney Business School.

Economics is a social science, hence its inclusion in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

+1 economics has traditionally been a social science. Theres nothing 'sciencey' about economics. They're all theories which have used math to prove their validity. At most economics would be placed in the faculty of science rather than Business. Economics isn't about make the monies!
