One of the reactions in galvanic cell is oxidisation, while the other reduction.

So the two electrode are metals. One of them will become the anode, the other cathode

So let’s jusf take copper and silver for example .

The more reactive one becomes anode (copper) so the other electrode cathode (will be silver)

Oxidation (anode): cu(s) —> cu^2+ + 2e^-

Reduction (cathode) Ag^+(aq) +e^- —> Ag(s)

So as you can see in question two silver metal forms that’s the deposit formation thingy you were asking for

And the silver deposit forms as extra mass on the silver electrode (cathode)?
