Hey everyone, I havnt been a member for long, but basically I just wanted to know why everyone is doing their HSC?

What do you all want to do when you finished?
What UAI do you want to get?
What do you want to do at UNI?

I am hoping to get as high a UAI as possible so that I can do B Biomedical Science in QLD, eventually I want to do a graduate medical degree.

i am doing my HSC on my own free will, like some parents determine their childs education whereas myself, my parents let me make up my own mind. I am doing my HSC because i want to go to UNI to do primary school teaching, phsychology or i would like to do something in social working, i honestly have no idea what i want to do, i think i want to be a teacher more than anything, i jus dont know yet!! .... i hope to get a 80 - 85 uai if i get higher. Cheering, if lower there are other options to go about! :) And goodluck with ur medical degree i do hope u do well :) Cheers! Beck!!

I'm doing the HSC out of my own personal choice. And if I wouldn't be doing it out of personal choice, I have a feeling of assertion that my parents would force me too:D.
Regarding your three questions:
1) Honestly, I have no concrete idea regarding my post-school profession. Apart from the fact that I know that I want to go to University. I seem to have an interest in most things...like languages, writing, business and science. Which is terribly annoying. But, from the opinions of others, I've been told I should be a journalist, lawyer (OMG NO WAY!) or a doctor.
2) UAI wise...ideally, 95 or above would be amazing. Now realistically, I'm hoping for a 90 or above. Now whether or not I have the intelligence for that is a completely different question...
3) Taking into consideration my response for 1), I can't straightforwardly answer this question. Because sincerely, I have no idea! I've browsed through catalogues for universities and there are just so many courses that interest me. I'll try and figure out a concrete idea sometime in the next year...I hope.

I chose to do the HSC, I know if i didn't my parents would most certainly make me do the HSC. but I chose to do it out of my own will because it will give me some stort of direction on life and what i want to do.
In response to your questions:
1)When i finish i want to become a geography teacher or something in the geography field whether i use geography in a science degree or in a commerce degree, i'm not sure yet.
2) UAI, ideally around 90 or above but i can't see that happening soo something around 80 anything above 85 will be a bonus.
3) Umm... my aim is University of Sydney or UNSW.

Yeah free will, if anything like that exists this is the closest to it i'll ever get :)

- UNI for me
- 100! lol, i wish... (no really i do :)) But more to the point 99.5 (min)
- Deciding between Actuarial Co-op or law/comm at UNSW or SYD...

Note that my aims are fairytales at the moment (i'm comparing the amount of work i'm doing this hols with others with similar aims), but hopefully, ill get into gear soon (tommorow i hope! :p)

1) Something mixed between maths, business and economics. Hahaha got no idea what that may be. Perhaps I will just be an Acturiast (sp?) or an Economist. Whatever I can get into.

2) Definitely above 90. Hopefully above 96 so I can get into acturarial studies at uni. However I will work towards a 99.95 so I can get the $20,000 scholarship. As long as it's above 96 I am not fussed.

3) Acturial Studies. If not then economics or whatever. If I get a pretty good UAI then perhaps veterinarian science. I got to do a bridging course for Chemistry though. Yeah probably will just do the courses at Macquaire or UNSW. If vet science then at USYD

if it weren't for the hsc, the following would not apply =]

1. Either optometry (big dream.. yet they are only accepting 25 people.. unless you are part of the other 25 who transfer) or something commerce / economics related .

2. something above 99 (lolz, again big dream) which was last year's uai or 98.6 last year's fee paying uai

3. b. optometry / b. science !

YAY .

Because I want to :)
In answer to your three questions, they would be:
- Corporate lawyer, or barrister
- 99.60, to give myself a chance of getting into Commerce/Law at either UNSW or USYD
- See second dot point.
oh hey you wanna do commerce?
i just recently became interested in that line :)

my answers:
- doing hsc-> because i want to. also ...can't see a reason not to do it?
- after hsc-> what i wanted to do has jumped about quite a bit...interior design, architect...now something in business/commerce: in marketing or maybe business analyst
- UAI aim -> 98+
- My first preference would be UNSW Co-op course: B. of Commerce (Information Systems and Management) or B.Com (Marketing)

[anyone done/doing ^^ courses - lemme know! i'd like to know a bit more about them from an experienced person :) ]
