A cursory scan of your posting history reveals you have something against law, and 'rich pricks' as you like to describe them. Were you abused by a millionare or something?

Re: your studies and prospects, congratulations on the power station job. Enviro crew, no less. What, with the boom and all, perhaps you will become one of those 'rich pricks' you hate so much?

Also, research sarcasm.

The best thing about law is that you can talk shit and still make money. You can't do that in medicine. But its for slimy, dirty people who will take any shortcut to take advantage of every opportunity that is put in front of them in order to maintain the maximum benefit for themselves. Very selfish sort of career really.

Most lawyers go home feeling like shit because they got a crook off a sentence. Doctors go home feeling good 95% of the time because they saved someones life. That's the advantage of med.

This is all my opinion. You can all say what you like. I love you all very dearly. MWAAA

That's the same as saying doctors go home feeling like shit because they had to save a child rapist's life. Lawyers go home feeling good 95% of the time because they save innocent people from a life sentence in an unfair trial that goes against basic human rights.

whens the last time a gp saved a life. LOL
GPs are the first line of defence. They are the ones who spot a potential problem and advise the patient on what to do to prevent it getting worse, or they provide a referral to an appropriate specialist for further treatment. Many people owe their lives to their family GP.

EDIT: Surgeons are the bomb. I agree with you Rogue but its not that often that you get a case like that. You could probably say the same about doctors saving lives but...

Doctors (esp surgeons) are contributing positively more often than lawyers in my opinion. Lawyers are getting rich crooks off most of the time whereas surgeons are operating on someone (who rarely is a crook) to make them better.

Anyway, i withdraw all comments. Im just gay.

Wow you really know a lot of lawyers and doctors!

And the Chinese labourer on $100 a week feels bad 99% of the time because the little copy Swiss Army Knife he assembled in the sweatshop was used to rob a 7/11.

Edit: this thread needs more pictures

I saw the title of this thread and raised an eyebrow. I read the contents of this thread and now my sides hurt from laughing.

That is all.

Well how about you look at it from this perspective - doctors (esp surgeons) are paid handsomely to save only a few lives each week at the hospital. Human rights lawyers are often paid a pittance to save many more lives and lobby to change laws to make things better for people now and for the future.

So where are you getting these statistics from? Rarely a crook?

Almost all of my brothers cases are dealing with dirty cunts that wanna rort someone or the tax office.

EDIT: Most of the population aren't crooks. Therefore, surgeons aren't going to be operating on that many considering that the probability of someone getting injured is about the same for a lot of people? Almost every crook needs a fucken lawyer to get them off their dirty deeds?

Ok so what that says is that your brother is one of those lawyers who defend dirty cunts, thieves and tax cheats?

Acceptance into medicine requires high uai, umat and interview whereas Law only requires a high uai. If most people consider both degrees just as prestige as each other, then why is it more difficult to get in Medicine? I understand why the umat and interview is used for medicine as it requires doctors to solve problems, communicate well with patients, identify puzzles and what not. But isnt that the same for law? Solve problems, communicate with cilents...
A better question:

Why do people hold lawyers in any esteem whatsoever? :D

Not just that. Then you get the DUI's and other traffic offences where the client is blatantly fucked but refuses to give in to the prosecution. Then you got conveyancing where you are constantly trying to remove/add conditions to contracts for the sale of land that will purely benefit your client and possibly rort the other party.

What im trying to emphasise is that the majority of law work revolves around rorting people. Yes you will get the case that protects an innocent's human rights every now and then. But have you spoken to any lawyers?

Every lawyer (about 10) in my bro's office agrees with me on this by the way.
