I don't think the glasses carry a "nerd" label anymore tbh.
Sometimes I wear mine as a fashion statement, they're french designer frames with a quirky shape =P

I generally never use my reading glasses until examination times.

I don't have to wear my glasses all the time but I found that it was much easier to wear them all the time haha!
