I'm starting year 12 this term, and am currently doing advanced maths. However I did pretty terribly in year 11 and am considering dropping to standard. I'm just wondering how much doing both standard english and maths will impact my atar? My year 11 ranks were pretty good, apart from Adv Maths:

English Standard - 1/76
Math Advanced - 82/101
Economics - 5/44
Geography - 7/57
Biology - 16/58
PDHPE - 4/45

Anyway, is it worth dropping to standard maths? I'm aiming for an atar in the mid 80s.

whats your school rank? if its low you have to be weary about going to standard- unless you are ranked pretty much at the top this could affect your atar :)

A) If you are aiming for a 90+ atar then yes
B)If you are aiming for 80+ and do horrible in them then yes
C)Consider what uni degree you want to do and see if Maths Adv is compulsory/recommended.

Copping a cheeky 98 in genny maths without having to study at all actually saved my atar, tho i still recommend you do advanced just so you have a good maths base.
