so i heard in year 12 the workload and amount of homework is pretty much double what we did in year 11.

when does this supposedly start?

already two days in, and i havn't got any homework.
is it after week three, that the huge workload comes into effect?

Year 12 is as much work as you make it; and if you haven't been given work now you should probably start working for yourself anyway; as it will certainly pay off in the end.

i think most ppl have hsc assessments near the middle - end of this term, so i reckon by then we'll have heaps of things to study for. its only a couple of days in, nothing will be different yet. we should enjoy it while we can

It depends on what classes you take. If you do maths, expect a lot of homework and self-set questions. If your courses are mainly essay based, then your homework load won't be that heavy.

Personally, this year I've had less homework than any other.

2-3 hrs a night should be enough for most subject selections.

2-3 hours. Really depends on the subject. Some courses you can learn all the content, and thus there is no way you'd need to study for that long.

It does also depend on your teachers and so on. I get basically zero homework for Legal, and hardly any for Physics. Not much for English either, so most of my homework is Maths, MX1 and MX2.

is it just because i don't do maths or science?

my subjects are mostly in humanities.

ie economics, legal studies, geography.

Guys lets be realisted as a 08 student

In term 4 2008 to term 1 2009, you should be doing 4hrs, but u cant do 4hrs all night, since u have take home assessments

When u get to term 2, it should increase to 5-6hrs a night

During 2-4 weeks pre trials, u should all be doing 6hrs minimum, and the more the better

Stuvac 8-10hrs

This is real shit from an 08 student, im not kidding

I dont say good luck to people, 'forutune wiill only favour the brave' i.e. work hard = luck

i dont think its too hard for humanities subjects though?

just learn the shit in the syllabus.
remember all the shit.
then you'll do fine?

Humanities subjects can sometimes be harder - a lot of content, but if you're good at remembering things verbatim, then you'd be fine.

Nasonex is right about the hours you should be putting in, i myself didn't put in those hours so that's why i'm screwed.

Also this thread needs a synonym for "workload".

I'm assuming you did mostly maths on monday lol. I didn't even receive anything new on monday textbooks wise.
