What's the worst textbook you've been issued with yet this term? (Either size and weight, or content.)

So far Jacaranda Physics 2 (I think that's what it is) is the largest textbook I've received since I started at my school at the beginning of this year. It's almost A4 sized and 550 pages thick. (Still, it's not as bad as Spotlight HSC Chemistry.)

As yet I haven't found any major inaccuracies in my textbooks, except Legal Studies stuff seems to always get out of date the week after it's printed =/

I'm not sure about a single textbook, but my collective load of Agriculture textbooks sure make a crack at it. I haven't even looked at half of them

Worst Textbook?
Definately Maths In Focus for Extension 1 (both prelim and HSC)
The questions are not remotely like they are asked in Exams, the examples hardly ever cover any of the harder work and the Extension and 2 unit stuff is all jumbled up together.

I barely touched my Chemistry Contexts textbook for Prelim, hopefully we get a better textbook in the HSC.

I beg to differ, I know someone who got 95 for his HSC using Math in Focus only.

But I will do some from Math In Focus and Fitz.

Tim Riley Economics, the language is too sophisticated for me.

His other subjects could have just made up for maths you know. If he did get a decent maths mark, I honestly doubt he would have limited himself to Math in Focus.

Jacaranda Physics is pretty good. Don't judge a book by its size!

Also, I personally recommend Conquering Chemistry over Spotlight Chemistry. I haven't seen Chemistry in Context yet.

Excel Chemistry seems a bit too short.

I dont know his UAI but he showed me the HSC results and he got a 95 for maths, I know many people who use math in focus and do well ( my cousin for example).

But they also do past papers so I guess that helps, now please post in my study topic cause im confused

You haven't seen Chemistry 2 from Jacaranda, 727 pages of intense chemistry action and 5kg of pain.

lol, i agree, it makes something that should be easy to understand so complicated :(

same with spotlight physics, that also uses the worst language

Might be a good thing as the legal studies course is ridiculously simple.

We got Jacaranda. The weight didn't bother me too much though. =)
