There is a lot more work for ext 1 and most people failed it at our school but im not discouraging you to choose it
You just got to work a lot harder because there's a lot of shit to know. We did like medieval stuff and vampires and yeahh wasn't really into that stuff..

Depends on your school but the independent reading workload is HEAPS!
HEAPS of reading is involved according to the English teachers at my current school.

Extension English is easier to English Advanced apparently. The content is more interesting and the range of answers is more varied than Advanced. So do it :) You're going to have to choose another subject anyway... and the workload is about the same I'm guessing.

I found extension english easier and a lot more of a bludge. Honestly, it's not a full on battle, or hard as other people make it. If you like english, you will enjoy the course and will find it interesting. even if you don't, you'll be fine. trust me. personally, i found extension english helped me to improve my marks for advanced.

go for it. stop putting yourself in a situation where you believe that you cant do something just because of certain connotations people have built on certain subjects.

good luck, enjoy the rest of year 10 :D

Yeah apparently people do better in ext 1 though because you focus more on 1 topic rather than like advanced you focus on all different areas

My Yr 11 results in Ext were a slightly better percentage than my Adv. I don't think the 12u set you posted is biting off too much, and sounds like you want to try all those subjects. I did all your subjects prelim with the exception of phys and mx1.

Don't do extension one for the marks.

Do Ex1 because you love English so much that the idea of more english gives you a massive hard on. Some people in our Ex1 class joined thinking it will benefit their atar...they've pretty much wasted a year because they hate the course and dont take it seriously.

A few of us really engaged with the course (because it was so fucking awesome - atomic age and shit), and it resulted in us becoming better writers and critical thinkers. The course really isnt that hard. You have 2 years to prepare for 2 response which you more or less already know what they are going to ask...

Learn some concepts, memorise some quotes, have fucking fun...
