Year 11 Choices- General Maths or Maths ( 2 unit)? (1 Viewer)

Well at first I thought I have to do Mathematics for th HSC because I want to get into B Commerce or Business but can I still get accepted if I do General?

I'm trying to studing for my SC trials and I'm looking at the past papers and I've realised that I really suck at Maths!!!!!!!!

Depends what University you would like to attend. As far as I know, USyd is the only University that does not have actual prerequisites for their courses, only assumed knowledge. Do some research by looking at different University sites and the requirements of each course.

What level of Maths are you currently studying at school?
5.1, 5.2 ,5.3...

Well if you suck at maths i would stick with general. I did a term of mathematics before i realised it was too hard for me and dropped down.

you can always drop down but you cant move up.

if u find the maths S.C hard then i would say do 2U. then if u cant handle it drop to general in yr 12.

100% agree with above. choose 2U and just drop it if its too hard. You will be annoyed if you didnt

well I'm pretty sure you can do either, I'm doing bussiness studies next year and maths general, so i think you can do either

if its between 2 unit and general, I recommend you do 2 unit... to do commerce in uni, 2 unit will help you more.

But as I said b4, do 3 unit maths!!!!!!!!! 100 people in my grade are doing it!

He obviously understands his own situation and academic capacity, it's not your position to go further and suggest 3 unit to those who is struggling. It's like offering you extension 1 english.

some people just aren't "maths people", nerdsforever. just because you're not a maths person doesn't mean you aren't smart. i would question why you're only doing general english, but that's just me. "how hard could it be?"
