Hey guys,
I am struggling with my subject selections and am keen for you guys to shed some light. I currently have two options im thinking of doing:

Option 1:
3 unit maths
3 unit english
physics
chemistry
biology

Option 2:
3 unit maths/english
2 unit maths/english
economics
biology
physics
photography(I will drop this in yr 12)

These are my two options i have narrowed it down to. What is making this decision hard is that option 1 should theoretically give a higher atar but im worried that the workload might be too heavy and as a result i would just give up all together. Option 2 consists of subjects i enjoy doing which will should minimise the stress. Finally, can you please tell me what you would prefer between 3 unit maths/3 unit english.

Cheers Guys,

Billy :D

I would choose Option 2, just on the basis of workload ... but it depends on how much you can take. As to 3 unit maths, 3 unit english, I would take these two, and if you feel that it is too much, just drop it.
But I only just chose my own subjects, so I guess its not the best advice

Workload will always be great no matter what subjects you do.
In my opinion, if you what to do 4U math then pick Option 1.
You will get the generic response of do what you like etc. etc. etc. So I guess you should probably do Option 2. But that means you like Economics because Option 2 consists of subjects you like?

If you want to do both high scaling subjects and the subjects you like, then I would do:

3U Math, 3U English, Physics, Chemistry and Economics.

For scaling Economics>Biology (on occasion > Chemistry). But if you like Biology as well.. then I guess you can exchange it with Chemistry, but that leads us back to Option 2.
I reckon if you go with Option 1, do Photography anyway since you will drop it in y12.

But just remember that if you want to do some subjects because of scaling, then Economics scales higher than all sciences most of the time. Though you are not really recommended to do subjects just for scaling.

If I were you though, I do Option 1 replacing Biology with Economics and doing Photography. (Also do both 3U Math and 3U English, no point in not doing it)

Why did you recommend photography as an extra subject for option 1 isn't it just more of a workload???
