For top schools no but for other schools to an extent it does
like say you did fully selective schools for 2cnd and 3rd would that make no difference right, even if they are higher ranked than sydney tech? js asking since i heard sydney tech actually does make a difference

Yeah like ruse, Baulkho, nsb, etc doesn’t care at all. not sure about Syd tech, Mac fields etc, I did see in this chat that when you rank them in a certain order, it does make a difference, (anyone can correct me if I’m wrong 😭😭) but I’m pretty sure I recall someone denying that was true because they got into Syd tech

So ruse or baulko wouldn’t care if I put them as 2nd or 3rd, but mid schools like penrith and girra would care?

Dw about applying for schools or what schools u want now cause it isn’t until like 6 or 7 months (yes I said 67 and no I don’t regret saying it)

For now I strongly recommend just focusing on boosting your grades and doing extracurriculars. In my year 7 reports I had 2As, 4Bs and 2Cs, but now in year 8 im at 6as and 2bs with As in all core subjects. In year 7 I also had no excs apart from soccer but this year im now taking stuff like panorama and school competitions. Dont worry about the school you want to apply for until a month before the forms open otherwise you’d be stressing too much too early. You should focus on building passive skills like reading fast and how to manage time in tests while also doing well in school because 3 months before the test is when you can start preparing.

And regarding your initial question, I honestly think the order doesn’t matter for top schools but mid tier schools actually care. Top schools also care a LOT about your portfolio and getting something like a C would be an immediate rejection. Just join some clubs and competitions that your school offers and it’ll boost your chances a bunch

yeah maybe the other people who got in or know about it maybe be able to help, @clockiework @Smartboiiii @aaliya yeah sorry if I tagged the wrong people 💔😭
ok idk much BUT correct me if im wrong. for hast skls they do probs cuz I recall previously on this forum n my experience perhaps that the order of skl are considered since they (or not )want kids who're like rlly into their skl or smt ig depending on their results n portfolio, cuz i got interview for Penrith n the prinicpal was like if u get a call from girra do tell us before but we'll release the offer candidates early next wk. even she could have mentioned other skl and couldnt have cared cuz like they're higher ranked a bit but no she mentioned girra only (my choices where first girra, penrith n last Hurlstone), so bc of my results, portfolio n my choices order. So SKLS will consider to select asap b4 other skls, depending on the order u put them in so it will tell them if ur rlly looking into their SKLS when they filter kids out if u have good results, exc n portfolio or just a backup skl option
