Not really. More like there's a lot of people tied. So even if you're rank 3, there's probably 10 people above you who are tied.

If like, 5 people got 19, then an 18 would get you 6th, and hypothetically speaking, if 3 people got 18, 17 would get you a 9th.

Work harder and more consistently. Be focused and serious about every exam or assessment task you undertake. All the best.

Heres my half yearly results/ranking:

Eng Adv = 71%, 8/28 (I spent too much time on my essay and barely wrote anything for the narrative part of the exam, otherwise I would have had alot better results.)

Eng Ext = 72%, 2/7 (I'm in a crappy public school, not many people are going to extend themselves lol. Only four including me do both Ext Eng and Maths, the only Extension classes available.)

Maths Adv = 71%, 2/36 (Yeah could've done better - last year I was averaging 85-90% in exams but now its like 70's or worse in Maths/Physics..)

Maths Ext = 34% 2/5 (1st was 42% so none of us passed.. incredibly hard test and our teacher left the school so we had casuals and they didn't know a thing so I couldn't revise the topics I didn't understand..)

Physics = 54%, 6/16 (but overall I'm coming 3rd in the course, so I just think I'll revise over the things I got wrong, talk to my mum whose a Physics teacher yay)

Music = 88% 2/9 (This is what is on my report but its a typo, should be 1/9 coz me and another guy equalled first. Otherwise, AWESOME!)

Engineering Studies = 83%, 1/18 (This was so funny, the other 17 are all arrogant boys and they weren't too happy about a girl beating them =P)

In conclusion, I'd say for the first exams of yr 11 I'm doing okay. Maths should be alot better now I'm getting a tutor soon, and I'll just sit down with my mum for Physics help. My teachers don't think there's a problem, only very minor things that can be fixed, so that must be a good sign.

Pfft my ranks/marks are quite low compared to Aerath's but I might as well post them up anyway.

Maths - 20/210
Chemistry - 22/114 (Mark 89/100)
Biology - 2/36 (Mark 91/100)
Physics - 17/120
English Adv - Top 72/210 (Hopefully)
English Ext - Top 72/210 (Hopefully)

No chance of coming in the top 30 this semester
