the best potato bake is made in the following way:
ingredients: potato,cream,french onion soup mix, cheese, diced bacon
1) mis packet of french onion soup mix in with cream
2) pour all through sliced potato
3)add grated cheese an acon on top (layering is better though)
4) put foil over dish to stop cheese burning- get out of over like 2hrs later- YUMMMM

and if ur worried it wiill make u fat- i just use lite cheese and light cream- and not too much of it....it tastes just as good.

I much prefer a Potato Gratin over a Potato Bake, it's simpler and tastier
