Is it okay to bug teachers? (2 Viewers)

I think "question bugging" is okay... as long you do it reasonably, because, hey, it is their job to teach and to help students understand stuff. One or two questions in class is reasonable, as long it's not too complicated or takes a looooong time to explain. But if your question(s) are complex, take a long time to answer or you just have a LOT of questions (inquisitive, no?) then maybe perhaps seeing them during recess/lunch is a better option - teachers need time to teach and address other people in your class too! (also, people who hog class time with their own questions are really really annoying! haha)

Make sure you are really appreciative when they answer (like say "thank you" etc) because then they would more likely to happily answer your questions in the future.

Its absolutely ok. I am at school to learn, and they are there to teach me. Though, you should really only ask relevant questions in class. I save all others to just after class, lunchtime, or i email them on their school email. I'm not going to sit back, not able to understand something when it puts my life at stake.
All of my teachers are really nice about it anyway. I always thank them, and I do alot of favours for them to make up for it. So it works both ways.

Well a teacher who considers teaching to be a job isn't much of a teacher and should not be teaching at HSC level.

My teachers are more than willing to help. When I have a practice essay, my teacher will read it. When I need help, I can email my teacher with the assurance they'll email me back with quality advice, and I highly appreciate that.

The bottom line is... it's their job... and in most cases (especially in private schools I've noticed, not saying that public schools are any different), the teachers want you to perform well and will push you to do well (I know my teachers are like that).

In saying that... if a problem arises, try and solve it yourself, but if you can't end up solving it - ask your teacher. But remain respectful and be patient.

Our english teacher and eco teacher always tells us to bug them, apparantly they feel unsafe if we dont bug them

Once I got into trouble for not bugging my maths teacher lol, had a nice 5 min talk with him about how I should bug him lots in the future...

But I never bug my phys and chem teachers, theyre too 'incompetent' in their respective areas

Ask them, but some teachers hate questions bring asked, some love it, if your teachers don't mind then ask away, if they do, it might be bad comments on your report? lol

I guess it really depneds on the teacher though, some lvoe it when you ask them questions some dont. ALso depends whether they actually truly enjoy teaching, i think if they really want their students to succeed, they wouldnt mind being 'bugged'
