Man, what is with you? Why does every single one of your posts have to be about freedom? Talk about the damn topic or fuck off.
Why so hostile? If labor and persons in general are to be free, then so should there be freedom for prostitution. Prostitution is a voluntary sale of a labor service, and if we want to live in a free society (economic and socially) then the government has no right to prohibit or restrict such sales.

Speaking of prostitution, who is some bureaucrat to take control of another adults body? the very notion or the idea of such infringes upon the prostitutes freedom to do what she wishes is tyranny.

Are you for the legalization of drugs? If not, then you're a hypocrite.

Besides, what we're talking about is the legal age of such ventures (making porn, watching porn, prostituting). What's your opinion with regards to that?

What are the current laws regarding prostitution? When is it legal/illegal?
It's legal to pay for sex everywhere.

Legal in registered brothels. Registration is expensive and complex, some operations are not legal, though police are fond of cracking down on this. It's only illegal for the business to operate if not registered, it would not be illegal for clients to visit there.

I believe private operators can do whatever they like in their own homes, or in other people's homes/hotels as an escort.

Some streets in NSW it is legal to solicit on the street, where women may stand on street corners and attract business. These areas are few, strict regulation on locations.

Varies much state to state.

If you have reached the natural phase to produce a child which therefore means reached puberty, you are by all means should have the rights to produce, sell, and watch sexual activity.

Of course, even if such law did exist, the majority of the population would not adhere to such activities. However, if a small amount of the teenage populous did pursue this line of thought, they should be by all means do so. Who are we to stop them? who are we??

I find it amusing how everyone refers to prostitutes as female by default.

Your concept of freedom is distorted. Allowing all children at the age of puberty (which is, for some, as early as 8 or 9) to have sex is simply wrong. It allows to much space for exploitation and abuse. That's not the kind of freedom anyone should want. The current legal age for sex, 16, is fine and provides a reasonable safeguard against abuse.

Question 2: Do you think that we should legalize pedophilia and child molestation (as long as the abused have hit puberty)?

They're the overwhelming majority. As such, it's not surprising given it's a profession defined by gender and sexuality.

Like if I were to ask you to think of a typical engineer, you don't immediately think of the fairer sex, or any feminine characteristic.

And that should be the crime. The exploitation and abuse.

But the effect would of this law are the same: to reduce all teenagers to a subhuman level and to deprive everyone of the most precious part of his or her humanity—the freedom to choose. Are you telling me that if a 15 year old had consential sex with another 15 year old that they should be persecuted? This thought of line fundamentally violates the natural rights of all teenagers of such age to own their own body and therefore decide what they wish to do with that body.
Question 2: Do you think that we should legalize pedophilia and child molestation (as long as the abused have hit puberty)?
No. If the abused did not want to have sex then it is a violation of her right and therefore a crime.

Well I'm glad that we're amusing you.
So am I.

Oh, I'm aware of that. I just find it vaguely amusing because most people use 'he' as a generic reference; there's not many instances that we use she and it usually turns out to be some profession seen as demeaning. Like this one.

That said, I've never met a female sex worker but I've met quite a few male ones without even trying. I wouldn't be surprised if the percentages are somewhat skewed though, considering the fact that the majority of women are registered under specific premises or agencies for their work whereas the majority of men are independent.

Do you really think a 10 year old boy/girl should be allowed to give consent to having sex just because they've reached puberty? That is the kind abuse I was talking about. There are many reasons why there should be a certain age of consent, many of which are simply a matter of science. Emotional/social intelligence does not come with immediately puberty, and thus there should be one, common age, before which children can't give consent, and after which they can.

Extending all freedoms to all peoples at all ages sounds well and good, but it hinders freedom more than it maintains it. Lines must be drawn.

Hmmm, who should tell him? Maybe he's worked it out by now. Or perhaps we really do have to elaborate.

While there is a business for hetero sex workers, mainly for older women and couples involving a woman, the main business for sex work for men is in the queer demographic. There's a surprisingly large amount of guys in their late teens through to late twenties who sell themselves in that market, regardless of their own orientation.

It's something that I still find rather shocking but I can understand why; it seems that a guy can stand to make $250 an hour, minimum, doing sex work for another man and considering it's unskilled labour ... it's unsurprising that some people our age would get into it considering other options generally pay very little and don't have such easy hours.

And that is why I believe to end this bickering the natural line is the best line. ie age of puberty. Its been working for thousands of years and done a great job.

Are you sure? He could be legit.

Are you a troll? The only way I can ever tell is by asking.
And no, applying the age of puberty as the natural line of consent has not been "working for thousands of years". It has been used for thousands of years, but it hasn't been working. It was an incredibly faulty, archaic way of deciding the age of consent and thus in modern society it has been changed.

Please tell me you're a troll.
