CD = 12

BC = 10

right?

here is my working out

AB : AC = 1 : 3 so 5 : 15 so minus AB from AC and we get 10.

as AB : AC = 1 : 3...we can say that BE : BC = 1: 3..so on

iunno if iam right.

13 years because it isn't a full year, and the remaining months is 9 until her birthday.

Multiply 19/20 buy 3, and 14/15 by 4.

57/60 + 56/60

113/60 which equals approx. 2

HERE, I found this... (work backwards)
A father is nine times the age of his son. In 5 years time, he will be four times the age of his son. How old are they now?

present:
father = 4*son
(father-5) = 9*(son-5)

9*father=36*son
4*(father-5) = 36*(son-5)

4*father - 20 = 36*son - 180
4*father - 20 = (9*father) - 180

160 = 5*father

father = 32
son = 8

5 years ago:
father = 27
son = 3

d = |ax1 +by1 +c|/root(a2 +b2)

d = |2 * 2 -1 * 5 -3|/root(22 + (-1)2)

d = |-4|/root(5)

d = 4 root(5)/5
omfg..thats some hard maths.. i dun even think thoese kind of questions will be in the Sc..Is this question from past papers?

Here you are:

1.8=9/5
0.03=3/100

so it'd be 9/5 *divided by* 3/100
and so u flip the second equation over and times across
so you'd get 9/5 * 100/3
times across=900/15
15 into 90=6 so therefore, 15 into 900=60 (since you added an extra 0 on 1 side, you gotta add it on the other side or something along those lines)

well thas how i'd do it, hope it helped :)

okkk i just found out a MUCH easier way for this :L, thnx for the help mudkip ;) LOL :p
