Ideally, the best way to organise work is to use binder folders and loose leaf papers and plastic sleeves for each subject and use one with dividers to carry recent work to school. This method is especially useful for studying and making notes.I found that for English, you would receive heaps of sheets,so this is very effective.

Also for books, most of us often start of very neat but get messy as the year goes on, and in senior school there is often no time to be neat so loose leaf sheets should be a better alternative, where you can always rewrite the classwork neatly to form notes. Books can also get heavy when combined with textbooks.
Maths is the only subject where I would go for an exercise book

It's true that everyone starts off neat because ITS A NEW BOOK. I do agree that loose leafs would be good because you can write it neatly when you get home in your actual book and it would be light to carry OH and it would also serve as a great revision technique but I don't know whether I am going to be that organised to do that.

I'll probably end up delaying copying my loose leafs into my book and then I'd end up losing my information.

heey guys,

i've recieved a fair amount of my mates 09 hsc work so i've been sorting that via the syllabus. then creating a notes book to keep in my folder - for school. then typing up those notes to have for at home. i also create a terminology list at the beginning of each sub-topic.

I've been printing syllabus' and creating notes under all the headings - with assistance from my textbooks.

Good Luck !

I was thinking of that too, lol! I bet that would work great for remembering summarised notes, key points in studied texts, memorising essays / prepared extended responses.

I wouldn't be able to concentrate with laptops at school.
+1

At my school (and many other schools, I think) they are introducing macbook loans to the Yr 9s. This meant that the students were able to take the macbooks home and utilise it to their will, free of charge (as it was loaned by the school).

I initially felt jealous of the Yr 9's and how the school was unable to recognise that Yr.10's were priority and they needed most attention *rant rant rant* ...

But then I realised that I probably would not have utilized it most effectively, as I (personally) found that it was a distraction. It also replaced workbooks in class, so implementing it into the curriculum would be difficult for the school and the students... Well for me, it would. I'd much rather write things down on paper than type them up at school, that is. I don't think I would have gone as well in SC if I was given a macbook half-way through Yr. 10, despite its many benefits...

Same with me xD

I think I'll stick with workbooks. I'll keep my personal revision / syllabus notes separate, though.

If you write using the special books then you just have to tap on your writing and you can hear what was being said when you wrote that. If you want to get one grab one from the US, much cheaper

I bought my school stuff today;

- I have Note Pads, A4 which you can rip pages out of for subjects.
- A 5 subject book for study notes - so that they are all in one book
-3 Binders w/dividers fro handouts in each subject.

I am also getting a laptop - not to be used in class, but in free periods.

Wow that looks really cool haha, though, despite its novelty factor, I doubt whether at the end of the day, it would actually help learning/note-taking in class.

That is what I thought - if I find one in the USA, and it is cheap enough, I will get one, if not I'll give it a miss.
