So who is into writing? I for one love it sooo much... I usually tend to write stories and sometimes poetry and song lyrics. Currently working on a long novel which is fantasy based ^^ Hopefully one day when I finish it, a publisher will release it ...lol Anyway...for ppl who like writing, what degree/uni courses are you guys aiming at? Me: Arts/Law :D

I like it as well.

I'm also writing a novel ... fantasy based.

Perhaps mine will also be released one day. =]

However, the problem with me is that when I pick up a pen, I never put it back down. =] I keep writing, lol. Hence, perhaps mine will be broken into series.

I'm doing Arts/Teaching.

i have so many incomplete stories, so i don't bother anymore. i only ever squiggle political satire cartoons now. read an article, take out the felt tip, then in half an hour throw it away

I'm writing scripts at the moments. Mostly, I've derived them from another piece of literature (often unpublished). I think I'm more interested in the actual staging, as opposed to the writing.

Oh, and Uni: Creative Arts (Performance/Production)/Commerce.

I have to make a proposal to the head of the department. If it is approved, then yes, I'll get the chance to direct and produce. However, it's not a requirement of the course.

And that's a problem?? I seem to experience temporary periods of intense motivation where I write lots but then my progress will completely cease for ages. Btw; are you matching Stephen King's goal of 3000 words per day?

Lol.

Yes, I find it a problem when I pick up a pen ... I keep writing ... I just don't stop. Quite annoying, actually. My brain's never empty. =]

No, I ain't trying to match anyone's goal of whatever words per day.

In fact, I don't write everyday ... there's a marriage at my house these days which I'm heaps busy with but yeah ... I write when I feel like ... which is as often as three - five times per week.

I only just started like 4 weeks ago.

I've written 51 pages, I think. Not too much, but I'll get there ... eventually the story will terminate, and the pen will be put down.

I love to write but I have the problem of starting and never finishing. Also I can only really write successfully in pen. On the computer I go back and edit, and its so easy to just delete something, and then you never get anywhere. I know that when I edit it in the end I'll probably cut out at least half of it - but at least I would get to that point.

In year nine I once wrote a book. It was about 4 A5 exercise books long - like the thick ones. I wrote the whole thing left handed. Then I left home and when my mother moved she threw them all in the bin. I was rather heart broken and am still not over it. I mean I know it was pretty bad, but still, it was something solid, something I had to show for high school. Its something I'll never get back.

Currently I am writing a story. Its going pretty well, not sure how much I have done, but its moving along. I'm going to finish this one. I find tricks to help me stick with one story is to buy nice notebooks - like covered ones with cream paper. They cost more, but i'm not going to rip out the pages, and it makes me want to finish it. Also, I like stationary so I write with fountain pens, and like mixing inks together to create new colours. Its makes writing more exciting for me, and once I start, I'll go for a fair few pages, its just sitting down and getting into the head space.

I'm doing a BA at the moment.

heh well thats nothing, coz in yr 2 primary i remember i wrote an entire scrapbook as a mini novel, even though the story was retarded, the idea was very intriguing.

i bet, when it comes to writing creative pieces, you couldnt beat me, hehe, in one stage of my life, i was thinking of becoming a novelist, but seeing i had better things to do, i only stuck to this as a hobby, and someday, after uni is over, ill go ahead and publish my novel, coz i managed to sit down and type from scratch a 260pg novel of my very own :) how about that shit? hehehe :skip:
