LOL.

Getting back on topic...
Maybe you explained it badly

Lol, nah I get it now though, took a bit tho
Aha good, good. So long as the message somehow got a cross. I tend to use complex wording etc etc so yeah :/

And say we call active disbelief, "nogodism", that would mean that all "nogodists" are athiests, but not all athiests are "nogodists", right?
Yep. Sort of like how rectangles are squares but not all square are rectangles XD

See here for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weak_and_strong_atheism

what do ppl on this site mean when they say Christian... My understanding of someone saying 'im Christian' is that they are of the evangelical/pentacostal denomination.... but anyways religion is just a bunch of rules... Salvation is totally different... its through Jesus one can be saved... this is all clearly written in the Bible yet i dont understand why so many religions calling themselves Christian have remodeled this...
Christian = any religion that believes in christ being the messiah + follows his teachings. See the following link: Christian - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lol... isn't it the other way around, all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares?

So it's sort of like:

Strong athiest: do you believe God exists? "No". Do you believe there is no God? "Yes.
Weak athiest: do you believe God exists? "No". Do you believe there is no God? "Can't be sure" etc.

I read the article. Good grief though this just brings everyone into a whole world of torment lol, on the internet its like impossible to know if someone is a "stong athiest", "weak athiest" or agnostic etc, making some arguement valid on some posters, but entirely dodgy for others...

And the article admits that its not a concrete definition, with some athiests, such as Richard Dawkins and his following, rejecting the definition for their own.

I think the mistake on my part was not knowing the differntiation between strong and weak athiests exist, and rather grouping everyone under the umbrella "athiest", under a "strong athiest" defintion. Much of my confusion I would say is from talking with other athiests in the past who proclaim to be "athiest", and have a "strong athiest" viewpoint, without declaring it... I hope that makes sense :)

I suppose athiests may have similar problems, in regards to how someone who believes in God may either follow any number of religions, or even not, and even someone who says "I'm Christian" there are obviously hundreds of demoninations (but at least there the devils in the details, and more or less they believe in the same fundamentals).

Mate, a bunch of rubbish is written in the bible. In the words of ComingUpForAir himself:
well thats your view...

my point is simply this: Jesus saves and NOT religion, Jesus himself detested religiosity. [and this point is clearly in the Bible which so many people dont understand - which is quite simply amazing!]

Oh hurrah you are reading my posts! I'm glad you picked it up ^^

You basically have the idea of the differences between a weak athiest and a strong athiest. Personally i find strong athiests somewhat amusing as they're just exchanging one faith for another, but whatever floats your boat i suppose.

And yeah, you've pinpointed the problem with the terms "atheism" and "athiest" precisely :)

Nope, no sarcasm. I was agreeing with you :)

I go to mass every week (my mum is devote) and I have heard many times of how Jesus was disgusted by the Pharisees etc etc etc

Pretty sure you got that the wrong way around.
LOL yep, i was seeing if Name_Taken was reading my posts as before he seemed to be ignoring them. But he picked it up :)

please... noone does. as i've said in the homosexuality in australia thread, those who still believe in religion hasn't found the right moment to fall off the bandwagon yet.

hmmm.... u just dont get it do you...

there is a difference between religion and believing that Jesus is your personal Saviour...

eg:

Religious perspective: 'I will go to church because its good to go and thats what i should do on sundays.'

A perspective from a person with a personal experience with God: 'I want to go to church because I want to serve God.'

Religion is a bunch of rules and regulations which ppl think that if u follow them u will go to heaven. HOWEVER, what Jesus teaches [this is in the Bible btw] is that if you truly believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God and accept him as your personal Saviour you will be saved and go to heaven. Now this doesnt mean one is exempt from rules or regulations but rather must live a Christian life following Jesus' teachings.

Why did the Jews hate Jesus so much? Because he said he was the Son of God...now these people as holy as they thought they were, couldnt even recognise the Messiah their laws taught of. Why was this? Because they were caught up too much in their religious ways [and by religious ways i mean their customs, traditions and ideas such as: 'if i pray such and such times a day [yet i dont really believe] i will go to Heaven.

Simply: There is a difference between religion and knowing Christ, and it is only by knowing Christ that one will go to Heaven.

Look here, your in a cult, if your parents hadn't indoctrinated you as a child you would not be a Christian, you would not 'know' Christ.
Your vile little thoughts about being 'saved' impress nobody, so go get rapture'd up already (here's a hint, its never going to happen)

actually, i dont really know Christ, however it is my aim to... my parents have nothing to do with it.

If you want to get technical about things then why shouldn't i say that you're in a cult. I mean you have been indoctrinated by the media en masse, by others, by your limited understanding and by the hegemonic ideals presented in our world today, not to believe... you're a product of the times.

In this thread i was simply presenting my own opinions... not in any way im i forcing you to believe in God or seek Christ... nobody can force anyone to believe... it is your own choice, however as the Bible says, 'Seek and you shall find.' Thus if you search for God he will reveal himself to you.

Please, keep your pity comments to yourself.
