you dont need to know computer science to know that.???????? i dont know much about the computer science behind such websites, and if you do then that raises some questions >:l
The first FTP standard was RFC 114, published in April 1971, before TCP and IP even existed. This standard defined the basic commands of the protocol and the formal means by which devises communicate using it. At this time the predecessor of TCP (called simply the Network Control Protocol or NCP) was used for conveying network traffic.
Obviously the police are all pedophiles. Especially within the child abuse unit. Duh.What about the police who have to investigate this stuff browsing through hundreds/thousands of images on the internet and pedophiles computers after they get caught? Does that raise some questions also?
But more to the point.. why are you commenting in these threads if you have no idea how the internet works?
it has an affect! it doesn't matter if it doesn't solve all of humanities problems! no policy can do that. stop being so negative and accept that this is the direction australia is heading. we are solving parts of problems at a time, because it is downright stupid to think we have superhero politicians.whats the point of censorship of this manor when its not going to affect the distribution of child porn. plus a kid is still gonna see a pair of tits regardless of internet censorship.
or he really is just retarded.Obvious troll.
m8or he really is just retarded.

i dont think the genuine people would go against the government and bypass. i disagree to that, however easy you say it is. its not about that - its about ethics.m8.
one does not need to access a website to download restricted content.
There's such a thing as FTP, and no matter what the gov does, they cant filter that.
(unless ruddy turns to china for help)
but yeh, it blocks out content via the web, thats good. But still it fails. (loopholes everywhere)
and it doesnt take one more than 30minutes to learn about bypassing filters.
and im here talking about efficiency.i dont think the genuine people would go against the government and bypass. i disagree to that, however easy you say it is. its not about that - its about ethics.
my source is public knowledge - we have an ageing population and not many older australians are familiar with such technology. just look up australian bureau of statistics and find out our population pyramid. if you think that a majority of older australians (who make up the bulk of our population) knows how to do that, and has to lack of moral to do that - than prove it.sources m8?
besides, i was pointing out how easy it was to bypass a filter.
im not quoting from any government documents so i will not go back into that doomed argument. but ill say this - many australians will try to search for something, and if its blocked they will give up and try something else. its human nature. we are not a dominant population with illegal actions taken to avoid policy, despite what the minorities are saying.Lauchlan can you please re-address your original statement implying that there is child porn on websites and this filter will stop the viewing of said child porn?
CP websites are already banned.it has an affect! it doesn't matter if it doesn't solve all of humanities problems! no policy can do that. stop being so negative and accept that this is the direction australia is heading. we are solving parts of problems at a time, because it is downright stupid to think we have superhero politicians.
Exactly, negative, going backwards, like china.stop being so negative and accept that this is the direction australia is heading
i am discussing the facts. and the fact is that yes, this generation of australians are more computer-literate than the last.m8. you lost the convo. now you're resorting to petty name calling?
discuss with facts, not with slaps.
Yeah, its called P2P you imbecile.im not quoting from any government documents so i will not go back into that doomed argument. but ill say this - many australians will try to search for something, and if its blocked they will give up and try something else. its human nature. we are not a dominant population with illegal actions taken to avoid policy, despite what the minorities are saying.
i am discussing the facts. and the fact is that yes, this generation of australians are more computer-literate than the last.
but we are not a majority of citizens that resort to illegal practises (alternative IP addresses ect.)
those are the facts, dont try and butter them up with "computer nerd" terminology. face the facts. or eat them in your defeat.
its more accurate than your opinion. provide the same level of evidence and ill consider its accuracy.umm it's inaccurate considering it didnt ask everyone( people who could understand and respond)
What is accurate about saying the filter will stop the distribution of CP?its more accurate than your opinion. provide the same level of evidence and ill consider its accuracy.
we dont live in a perfect society, therefore issues need to be addressed, sometimes in the form of political action (policy). its not intervening - you're just so used to liberals lack of anything. In other words:
"What's the point in government if they don't try to intervene everywhere?"
there are different definitions of 'nerds' held by different people and you know that. nice try though - you almost had a point.lol the term 'nerds' are used by those with those with a low level of intellect describing those who are smarter than them i.e. majority of society.
