You are making the implication that Jewish thought has not changed over time
No but you're insinuating that the Jewish faith has not been an ongoing and continuous body for more than two thousand years.

Well thanks for reading the title atleast.
It doesn't matter. If you’re a Christian and you hate gays than your adhering to your fuced up religion invented by some Tusken Raiders 1000's of years ago. If you don't hate gays and your Christian, than you're just another religious hypocrite to add to the list. /argument

Sad thing is there are some wonderfully erudite and reasonable atheists out there whose company is a pleasure to behold but clots like yourself undo all their hard work in the same way the Niles and the Fieldings undo the work of the Macguire's and the Kirby's.

Oh please. He sits on the government side of the house. Its disappointing that 4 men can say jump to a government or veto any legislation (like at federal level). That isn't democracy.

What is your definition then?
I would say that where a parliament is elected by the people, and that within that parliament negotiations ad compromises occur in the formulation of policy that is acceptable to a majority of mp's in both houses, that the process is perfectly democratic. I am no fan of Reverend Nile but just because I don't agree with a policy it doesn't mean I should make up some rubbish about it being undemocratic.

Did I say it was undemocratic? I said it wasn't democracy.

Democracy is allowing every MP of parliament the chance to have a say. Lately, what ever Nile and the Shooters and Fishers say, they get.
How is this any different from what is happening with the Greens and Labor federally?

Democracy is meaningless without choices. In this country we have a choice between two main parties which are disturbingly worse than each other.

This is why I love NCAP

Yeah the inclusion of minor parties in negotiations are disgusting, much better to just have a part which carries a minority of the vote given unfettered legislative powers.

This is a claim I have heard said about the Australian greens, people saying it's unrepresentative etc...

Wouldn't you consider it a far more perverse situation if ~13% of the electorate voting as a block, had no means to get their views represented at the federal level?

Minority parties can't veto anything on which there is bipartisan support, they only have negotiating influence on divisive issues, the two major parties are so close this doesn't often occur.

He has much more power in the Legislative Council because the numbers amongst parties is far more balanced than the overwhelming majority the Libs have in the Legislative Assembly
