Maths advanced I got 99% (1st in course) which is funny

BUT what I’m much more proud of is English because I got 80% (I threw the essay hard) which was the second highest mark out of all everyone which I never would’ve expected in a million years oMG :D:D

I’ve never been an English person so I’m so proud about that English mark
those marks are both so amazing omg! congrats

Thanks! Now I’m scared to see the rest of them haha, I can only imagine what chem and physics will look like 😬
Judging by your eng and maths adv marks I'm sure they'll be good

Congrats on those great marks you have already though!

Thanks!

The other chemistry class got their results back and most of them failed, which is a bit scary 😬

I had business this morning, and now I have to grind for bio tomorrow :) business was ridiculously easy, I literally finished all 3 sections with a whole hour to spare 😭😭 The multiple choice and short answer sections literally took me 25 minutes in total, and then I spent about 35-40 mins on my extended response.
It was tragically boring, I did a nice little sketch on my exam though 🤩
That's what happened to my eco as well, literally finished mc and short answer in 30 minutes and spent 1.5h on my extend response wrote 7 pages...but I feel like my structure is not really good tho,I am repeating the same thing in two paragraphs like the first one is a theoretical concept, and next para is the real life case with statistics, sounds ok but actually pretty messyo_O

I'll be one of the first people in my year that is completely done, so that will be a cool flex for a couple of hours
My entire friend group only finishes on Wednesday afternoon, they have music practical all day xD
Good for u :)I got my eng,bio and math adv back alr:( the teachers are so hard working:////Got like 65% mark for bio since I didn't do any revision for bio, imma drop it anyway... my eng result was like 78% which is ok but my cohort was so good so maybe ill die for this:angel: math was pretty satisfied for me...got 56/70 in adv and the average for extension class is just 53 hooray did better than them hehehe

That is AMAZING! I feel like I did trash in physics, so ill be happy to get above 70%. But honestly, my teacher really isnt that good. He just reads off the Pearson physics textbook for like 40mins, and we just do the key questions at the end of the sub-chapter (there are like 8qs max). He never really teaches us, and whenever I or the class have problems answering a questions, he as well doesnt know how to solve it, and tells us he'll get back to us with the answer the next day (spoiler: he doesnt). He is a pretty chill guy, and only around 8 years older than us, so he understands our jokes and stuff, but his gleaming personality isnt gonna help me improve in physics.

Im planning on telling him this tomorrow, and just requesting that he provides more resources (books and or worksheets), and also teaching the class by showing us a ppt or doing sample questions on the board - not just reading off the textbook. I kinda wanna get everyone in the class to collectively tell him as well, so he knows its not just one person that wants help (the whole class has the same feeling, so it shouldnt be too hard)

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’d recommend trying to approach him in a way that doesn’t feel attacking/negative, as that will not put him into a mood to provide extra resources and help you. However, as a cool teacher I’m sure he’ll be more than willing to help a student who is trying to improve (most teachers are)

yeah, I 100% will kinda have to 'suck-up' in a way, and ask as nicely as possible. The issue is that I've approached him before, and he didnt really do much. I even had a chat with the headteahcer of science (my chem teacher), telling her how I wanted more questions/teaching in physics instead of reading off the textbook, and not much happened from that as well. My whole class thinks the same, and we all collectively want him to teach us, and provide us with more questions from harder books (e.g. surfing physics, or questions from independent papers), so if the whole class is requesting something, he kinda has to oblige.

I think ill just have to do alot of the work myself, and Im planning to do the physics questions sorted by modules, uploaded my one of the mods on here, as well as surfing physics, and maybe jacaranda if I have the time (seems like a lot, but I wanna do engineering as a career, so i really need to put in the effort)

Yeah if he doesn't oblige then you will kinda have to take matters into your own hands like that, luckily there is a decent amount of resources available for hsc physics so it's definitely possible
