Does anyone have summarised business notes

These are mine when I did HSC ranked 1st in school and got a decent band 6. I can't guarantee though this is like up to date because this is from 5 years ago so no clue if syllabus has changed since for business

    Chemistry Exam Predictions/Thoughts

They won't put the galvanic cells most likely. You need to remember the data sheet is not meant to just be a HSC data sheet it is also for Year 11 students to use as well. Since is there no separate data sheet for Year 11 and 12 all the stuff from each year is put together Anyways if they ask...

Trial question that I'd like opinions on

Must be a different year for the CSSA

    Is my handwriting legible?

It looks messed up ngl but it is readable. It will be difficult for the average student to read it because they probably haven't seen a lot of different writing types but the teachers have probably seen worse than that so they should be able to make out what the words are.

Trial question that I'd like opinions on

Question 7 the one about functional group isomers. The answers said that B was the correct answer which were I and III. These were both alcohols so they can't be functional group isomers.

Trial question that I'd like opinions on

In that same exam by the way there was another wrong question. So I think they just didn't check their paper properly before releasing it for students to do

Trial question that I'd like opinions on

What is it that you don't agree with? because it seems like a straight forward question in terms of what is commonly asked in the HSC trial papers. Pb2+(aq) + 2HCl(aq) --> PbCl2(s) + 2H+(aq) find n(HCl) = cv = (0.0979)(36.75/1000) molar ratio to the Pb2+ and then find conc using c = n(Pb2+) /...

I haven’t gotten any early entry offers… help

If you don't get early offer it's not the end you can still get offer based on ATAR after with bonus points so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Good to apply for them but not a deciding factor in getting into the degree

    Did I screw up?

There are jobs but you need further qualifications usually such as masters or PhD, so it is a very competitive type of area of study where you need to be academically capable and willing to dedicate more than 4 years to achieving that goal. This is because in the undergraduate degree alone for...

    Chemistry Olympiad summer school

It might help in having an overall knowledge of chemistry but it doesn't mean it will directly help you in HSC. The content is the same in some areas but then the style of questions is also different. HSC there is a lot of writing type questions. If you want get a better understanding of...

    Did I screw up?

Generally speaking just doing a bachelor of science or advanced science degree there aren't that many jobs directly related to it. There may be some things but narrower job opportunities vs other types of undergraduate degrees Usually if you are doing this type of degree you will need to do a...

What About University are you Most Excited About?

The social events were kind of non-existent in 2021 due to the COVID and lockdowns but hopefully in 2022 they will come back as things start to get back to normal. For extra curricular and volunteering there is usually some kind of society at the uni based around that so you can do that directly...

    Colorimetry question help

AAS, colourimetry, UV-vis questions are all generally solved in a similar way because the methods all involve using a calibration curve made from standard solutions First use the graph. Absorbance 0.6105 ==> c(Fe3+) = 55 x 10^-6 mol/L This is just by tracing across from y-axis to graph to...

Can anyone please help with this question on colourimetry?

The blank still means it's run in the cuvette. The cuvette is the sample holder, you cant put the water on the instrument directly

    Ksp values on data sheet

Yes these substances are insoluble if the solution reaches saturation. However these are not all the possible compounds that can make precipitates
  18. jazz519

Can anyone please help with this question on colourimetry?

Whatever solvent you are using to dissolve the things in. So if you made your solutions by dissolving a substance in water then yeah a blank will just be a sample you take with only water. The purpose of the blank is to account for any background absorption so you should minus that value from...

    State Ranking English

Not at that high of HSC mark. The marks are mostly consistent with the raw mark = aligned mark almost. I may have missed out based on a decimal place or something like handwriting (cause mine was pretty average) anyways it's in the past just a minor thing still end up getting same ATAR...
