    UNITS

if u are going for high atar and are good at maths (which u are if u choose ext 2 math) do physics (and also a good work ethic), if u want a bludge subject choose engineering.

selective school application 2022 for y10

you should apply for schools which are application only (no test) as the schools that have tests are significantly harder to get into as they normally accept 2-3 kids prior to year 11.

I stuffed up my eco exam

it was english and the weighting between the 2 assessments that was done was the same.

I stuffed up my eco exam

my mate went from rank 120 to 30 in a subject at a top 20 school.

How do I prepare for my chemistry practical

it could be enthalpy of neutralisation for mod 6 and i dont know another prac for mod 7. Also unless they told it isnt titrations it probably is a titration prac.

    Raw mark and what band

op remember that raw marks internally dont mean much, its just your rank respective to your cohort that matters, as we cant tell the difficulty/cohort strength/rank of your schools assessments.

How do I prepare for my chemistry practical

unless they have told you otherwise, the practicals are most likely to be a titrations for mod 6 and an alcohol heat of combustion prac for mod 7, as these are really the ones that are commonly assessed that i have seen. You can't really practice these at home, but you can prepare for questions...

Do Past-Papers now or wait until the term 3 holidays to complete them.

i suggest not using trial papers/hsc papers now and using only the term assessment past papers as practice.

How do i study for my math test?

it doesnt take too long until you see 90% of the question types, maybe after 5 papers i would be able to do most of the questions. Also when i start papers i normally just look at the solu if i havent seen it before. honestly, looking at past papers solus teaches me better than my actual teacher.

How do i study for my math test?

i dont think you should do textbook questions for practice, i normally just do past papers after i have initially learnt the content.
  11. T

    Gravimetric analysis

idk if it is specifically tested but you have to use it when doing certain calculations such as back titrations.

    Band 6 Unreachable?

no problem, this is actually important if you want to maximise your marks as certain subjects still require higher marks (95+) for your overall atar to be high (98+), these subjects are typically the 'worse' scaling ones. to maximise your atar you should place more study time and effort on those...

    Band 6 Unreachable?

remember that 4u is the highest scaling subject, so a score of 88,89/100 would suffice for your atar goal. this also means that at the high end of atars, it isn't necessary to get 2-3 marks more than an 88/100 to get a 98+ atar as scaling has less of an impact the higher your mark goes.

    Mod 6 neutralising acid spills

it because it is amphiprotic and is not a strong base/acid therefore it will not produce a lot of heat when neutralising.
  15. T

    Cambridge strong induction

you just have to take 2 assumptions instead of 1. so it would be k, k+1 and then prove for k+2.

Types of Integration By Parts Questions

reduction is where primarily the harder ibp questions come in
  17. T

    sketching graphs using derivatives

for the composite functions, you can consider points which are known either to be intercepts of have gradients of zero through asymptotic behaviors and just sub in those y values to find certain points. From there you can predict a rough shape more easily. for the curves with multiple functions...

What should I drop 2022 HSC!!!!!

ye that would be the case for a normal person, but judging by their subject choices they clearly have preference towards stem subjects.

What should I drop 2022 HSC!!!!!

i would drop ancient if i was u, i did 4u math, phys, chem, english and history starting yr 12 and after i dropped history all my ranks went up.

    Bombed my mid-years (need motivation)

wdym, the dude said some kids who got single digit ranks got 89 in advanced eng and he had a triple digit rank in yr 11. if he had gotten a low b5 in eng, he might not have got some offers that he wanted...
