    Selective School Entry 2022

if your good at selective tests style exams do the HAST, i think there are also other good schools who offer positions based on HAST. If not i would still suggest putting one of the HAST test schools down in case you get a good percentile, because they dont care about your preference placements.

once u learn math properly u never forget.

    MX2 Integration Marathon

This is the 2021 integration marathon thread, as i have noticed users submitting integrals on previous year's threads. I will start off: 1/(x+x^6) sorry for bad formatting

    Properties of definite integrals

He didnt integrate, he realized it was a semi circle and after a sub and then he used the area of a circle formula to find the area beneath the curve. This is just an instance where it is easier to use properties of the curve rather than integrating it.

Solids and liquids in equilibrium constant

ye sure, but for clarity they still have concentrations.

Solids and liquids in equilibrium constant

    quick proof: c = n/v= n x 1/v = mass/MM X 1/v = m/v X 1/MM = 1/MM X P. where P is density which is constant for solids and liquids and 1/MM is a constant as it is molar mass which is fixed. Thus concentration is constant. sorry for poor formatting.
  7. T

Solids and liquids in equilibrium constant

well actually they do have a concentration, its just that having a constant concentration in the eq constant provides no additional information so they just disregard that info.

Maths-Ext 1/2 Marks Lost and Hardest Topics

ye when i watched the mit integration bee i felt it was an easy expansion + reverse pro rule, iirc neither of the contestants got it right.

    How to Study Well

no i mean a hsc mark of 94 will get you a 99.95 provided that all your other subjects give you 99.95 atar equivalent.

    How to Study Well

Be careful of where you allocate your time, because even though a mid to high e4 in ext 2 is desirable the effect of scaling becomes less and less iirc 94 in ext 2 scales to a 99.95. Therefore your time is better spent on weaker or worse scaling subjects.

Series prerequisite for Proof by induction?

series and sequences is easy enough to finish in a couple hours, so i say just learn series and sequences first.

    Prelim Chem and Phys

I didnt pay attention in science from yr 7-10 but just self studied mod 1 for phys and chem in the summer hols and it was enough to do well.

    2nd order recursion

both ive seen the Un realtionships but i can only find first order ones. I would also like more challenging recursion material if possible.

How legitimate is this report on the "worst" degrees?

would the emerging field of 'big data' be placed under the latter 2 mentioned in the least employable degrees. I've heard it is one of the biggest and most employable fields.

    2nd order recursion

    enrichment 2E, q22
  17. T

    2nd order recursion

nah, not 2nd order recursive ones.

    2nd order recursion

anyone know where to find good q's for 2nd order recursion proofs, Cambridge only has a handful of basic ones, not sure where to find anymore. Also i dont want to look through past papers as i would like to keep them for trial period. thanks.

    #welcome #general-chat

i think it is valid to sub in z=1 unless it is stated z=/1 in the q and or the fraction in (b) is given.
