    Extreme demotivation

I can't really give advice because I don't know how you study and what works for you, but something I did in english year 11 didn't work in year 12 half yearlies for english and I was in the lower ranks so I was kinda stressed about getting band 5 or even 4 for english. They kept saying to...

Bored of Studies - Chess Competition

I reckon a discord chat would be useful to organise times to play games, because this is gonna take a while to organise

    Matrix Holiday Course - Chemistry

Learning something early is always a good thing, it means you get to learn it twice! If you feel like chemistry needs the most work then go for it, since ofc you'll be sacrificing time from other subjects

    Maths Mistakes

You could try read out stuff you're writing in your head so if you write "3 x 2 = 9", in your head it'll be like "three times two equals 9" and you'll be like oh wait a minute, it's wrong. Also practice at home under timed conditions because pressure/time limit could be adding to your mistakes.

    Finding techniques

Tbh if I couldn't find a technique I just chucked some generic bs technique in there like truncated sentences or emotive language.

    Actuarial vs Commerce

Most people do a double degree with actuarial just to get the part 2 exemptions in 4th year, so you can do any 2nd degree based on your interests.

    Actuarial vs Commerce

    Yea

    Actuarial vs Commerce

From what I know: 1) Actuaries can diversify into many fields due to the skillset, e.g. risk analyst, data analyst, not sure about accounting. 2) Starting pay probably around the same?? Not sure about accounting but I think actuary starting is around 70k, but it scales much higher I think after...

    MQ Chatter Thread

First sem was really bad since I was really behind and online exams feel much harder due to the atmosphere, but second sem was great thanks to exams being in real life. Glad lectures are all online + tutorials in real life for me this sem.

What are some techniques people use to write a lot in exams

I could write around 800 words for my english essays I think, I wasn't the fastest writer since I held my pen weird and wrote with a lot of force on the page

    I really need a 99 atar

Yeah 3u is kinda like a silly mistake exam while 4u is like "if you solve it you solve it" Yeah true english was literally my weakest subject and I put the least time into it, it was too boring LMAO

How to prepare for hard questions in exams?

The difficulty of HSC exams is sorta similar each year so doing past HSC exams and trial papers should be fine. I didn't really have tutoring for maths or do some special study routine to get good at the hard questions (which I used to be really bad at), and I was even struggling with the...

Ancient History or Physics? DROPPING SUBJECTS!! help!!

I enjoyed year 12 physics more than year 11 physics, like a lot more, so I guess read up on the year 12 topics and see if you'll like them.

    How to Study Well

Defs focus more on ext 2 hard questions because once you get good at ext 2, ext 1 literally becomes a walk in the park and is just an exam about silly mistakes. Also when viewing solutions try to come up with better methods for approaching questions next time, not just look at the solution and...
