How legitimate is this report on the "worst" degrees?

I don't think acst152 is that accurate when showing the actuary job, I'm not 100% sure either what the job is like. But I've heard there's quite a lot of human judgement involved (especially consulting) when, for example, making models, as well as coding (like R, mySQL). So I guess this is why...

How legitimate is this report on the "worst" degrees?

I'd also consider the fact that AI will be taking over jobs, probably with accounting first and other easily automated jobs

    #welcome #general-chat

Yep it's really good, hope it works ^^

    #welcome #general-chat

I guess getting out of bed in the morning even though you're tired is just willpower I recommend the app 'Alarmy', really good and wish I knew about it during trials because for 2 english trials (we had 3 sets of trials) I was like "I'm gonna wake up early and study I'm too tired" and slept in...

    Private schools

Ahh I just assumed a private was any school that costed money to go to but if it's just the really expensive ones then ignore what I wrote
  7. pikachu975

    Private schools

I went to a Catholic/Private school (not sure if that counts) but everyone was supportive/working together for HSC, not much snaking (which I've heard is common in top selective schools but I didn't go to one so it's not 100% true, just what I've heard). I found some of my teachers to be really...

    HELP

This isn't gonna be the answer you're looking for but I guess the saying goes somewhat like this: "Motivation doesn't come before action, action comes before motivation" Which basically means you 'make a start' on your work/study then motivation comes from that. It comes from the small wins...

    What to do

Don't worry never give up. I was in the same position but just for english, since I got like 11/20 or something (I forgot) in a 15% english speech then did average/bad in the half yearlies so I was nearly last out of 35ish students. Was worried I wouldn't even get 98 ATAR just because of english...

    Atar estimate!

Yes ranks but also the gaps between each rank is important too, but some schools shorten this gap if they feel the cohort is strong. But you should still try to achieve high marks in trials because it sorta gives you an indication of how you're doing since they are a "trial" version of the HSC...
  11. pikachu975

    Atar or rank

The rankings might need to be higher for a school in the 100s so keep this in mind Also yeah try aim for first in all subjects so no one can drag you down
  12. pikachu975

    Importance of Internals

The actual marks of your assessments don't matter, just the ranking and the gaps between each ranking. So yea just try to get high rankings then smash out externals.

    Should I do Medicine??

Most med degrees don't have science as preqrequisites, only a few of them, so make sure you research them first. Good luck!

    Medicine 😎

Yeah I defs wouldn't recommend making jokes. They can see if you match with their company I guess through your motivations to work there, your values, your extracurriculars, etc
  15. pikachu975

    Medicine 😎

I didn't do a med interview but in general you want it to sort of be like an elevator pitch about yourself - summarising who you are, ambitions, etc, but also not be a detailed log of your life story

    Is Tutoring really necessary

In my school the HSC generally brought year 12s closer than ever as everyone worked together to succeed, so it probably depends on the school. I can definitely see selective schools being more competitive but in my experience at least, the HSC created a great environment for collaboration and...
  17. pikachu975

Is internal ranking really that important?

Your rank in your subjects is more important at lower ranked schools. For example if you're like 15th in James Ruse physics and you stuff up your physics exam, your internal mark will still be around the 15th highest external mark, so you'll probably get 90+ as an internal mark still due to your...

BoS trials Maths and Chemistry 2020

Yeah haha also keep in mind the BOS trials are usually harder than the HSC if you want to challenge yourself! They're worth a try to improve problem solving skills and to see where you're at ^^

SIGMA > ACE ????? (FOR PHYSICS)

    Didn't read them either sorry
  20. pikachu975

SIGMA > ACE ????? (FOR PHYSICS)

Not sure I haven't checked out those resources you listed, but the notes are really in depth (which is essential for high 90s) and include many good HSC questions to practice, including tricky/hard ones. Also weekly homework that gets marked is nice as well as practice exams (which are common...
