USYD TIMETABLES ARE FINALLY OUT!! could you help me with mine

I found that I could do a lot with a 1 hour break in between a lengthy set of classes. But that worked for me - you have to decide whether its best to have a 2 hour break or a 1 hour break. Best of luck ~

    Textbooks

No, in all honesty you won't be using textbooks all that often and some or similar of the resources can be found online. There are prescribed textbooks on-loan from the library with a two hour borrowing period. For socio-legal studies (I have a friend majoring in it too) there are coursebooks...

    Uni life?

Yes you can, though you may not find seats - so long you don't rock up halfway through the lecture and disturb other students. Classes tend to finish five minutes before the hour and start five minutes after the hour giving you about ten minutes to get from class to class.

    Uni life?

Q1. Lunch? I tend to go to Parma, Laneway, Courtyard Cafe, Manning and Taste - occassionally I'll grab lunch from unibros. I also participate in club and society activities from time to time. Or catch up with work (hahaha - who am I kidding?). Or I hang out with mates. Q2. I like my pen and...

    Recorded Lectures?

You can check Blackboard or the main website for that unit eg. Sociology look under the Discipline or School of Sociology to see who teaches what unit and their contact details (includes a phone number too for you to call). Other than that you can email the main School or Faculty office to be...

    Timetables

Once you're happy or it seems reasonable enough for you - you will need to allocate the timetable. There should be another option after that to allocate yourself a new timetable to "save your preferences" if you will.

    Timetables

Up until semester starts... because most classes will be locked or filled to the brim by then.
  10. passionxmusic

    Timetables

They will show up on your timetable (might take the system a couple of mins to register and allocate a new timetable) but most of your classes should stay in the original timeslot unless the system recognises a clash or inconvenience. You will still need to block of times to get the classes you...

    Timetables

Click on the time slots you don't want classes to run and see if your new draft timetable has a shift in the classes. You may have to try a couple of times leading up to when class starts. The blocked off timeslots should appear blue.

    Timetables

Then that means that lecture cannot be moved. It'll show up as yellow on your timetable as a "cannot move class". Classes that show up red are clashes, blue are blocked off time slots and white means the classes can be shifted around provided other time slots are available.

    Timetables

Okays you click on the view timetable or whatever option is there when editting and only when you're happy do you click on "allocate me this timetable" (forgot what it actually says).

    Timetables

Block the 8am slot and see if the lecture falls onto another time slot. Some classes may still be full so there won't be much room to move around.

    Recorded Lectures?

Yeah, email the lecturer because not all lectures are recorded and if they use the projector or black/white board you won't see any of the material just slides and a voice recording. You can view the recording anytime you like.

    Timetables

Go onto Timetable Unit and collect your timetable online. Start blocking out time slots now to get a reasonable timetable.

    Timetables

As long as the unit is dropped and not shown as enrolled on the status then yeah you're fine. It will remain on your timetable unless you allocate a new one (again, you will see these options once the timetables are released).
  18. passionxmusic

    Timetables

Correct... though you should check with the faculty beforehand. I should also note that 31 August is the Census Date for Second Semester and should you drop units before this date you will not get an academic penalty or a financial liability.
  19. passionxmusic

    Timetables

Normal math units? Do you mean second year units? You can if you meet the prereqs, yes. As for deadlines: 31st of March is usually the Census Date to drop any units without incurring financial liabilities & you can add/drop a unit up until the second week of semester because timetables will...
