My method allows for that (56 is most definitely correct).

Since the sum of the digits must be 6, we can write it as: 1_1_1_1_1_1_ Just use the stars and bars method, since we need to put in 3 bars to represent the digits. So we get \binom{8}{3}=56 i.e. 1_1 | 1_1 | 1 | 1 = 2211

The textbook's answer is better though. You don't need to say x≠-1 since you already said x>0.

MATH3066 is probably the easiest third year course imo. I did it last year and it was easier than the second year maths courses.
