    70 WAM. Easy or difficult?

well. I think 1151 is way easier as in how they present it to u in exam format. Questions every year are very similar and similar concepts. In 4 unit, u sometimes get some nasty surprises. HD in 1151 is not hard if you do all the past papers and understand how to do most of it.

    70 WAM. Easy or difficult?

lol good old first year uni. it's funny how my first year wam was like 80 and second year is 84 (so far). 2nd year trumps 1 year, it's so weird. And yes, i reckon 4 unit is harder than 1151.

CA Program - Ask questions, get answers! (new and improved)

Ohhh lol...I had the impression that you finished already (From posts above) :/ But you have done all the hard work to get it anyway hahaha. I guess I will talk to counsellor to organise something out. I hope they dont force me to get CA because I am CF and might be doing due dilligence stuff...

what is a good combination among these commerce majors?

Re: Should I do commerce (proffessional accounting) at Macquarie or ANU (commerce). Agreed. Macq has a great business faculty. No need to move all the way down to Canberra just to pursue a course that seems more prestigious. (I don't know much about the quality of ANU's business faculty)

    Double Major Minor Query

Yes. That would be actually wise thing to do. (No sarcasm) EDIT: However, don't enter a course thinking you would like to drop it.

Is it true that UTS business school is absolutely crap?

As I said, doing Comm (international) may offer slightly better prospect of working overseas. You can do normal commerce or comm/eco or comm (liberal) and do exchange program which will further help you with the prospect of working overseas. Otherwise, I really don't see much point with Comm...

How much maths in actuarial studies?

It's alot of "maths". TBH, I loved high school maths but I hate uni maths. I dont know about you guys but most of people who start off with comm/science and do maths + actuarial drop out and do comm/eco. And yes, even the guy who topped 4 unit maths once told me he doesnt really like maths...

Is it true that UTS business school is absolutely crap?

Actuarial and international business? Well, you are definitely right in that you will be like the only person with such combination. However, I do recommend finance. Why? It's because traditional actuarial jobs are very limited. As far as I know, actuarial firms like Finity + Alianz and others...

Is it true that UTS business school is absolutely crap?

what do u mean? international business? business-wise, i would say unsw. but it depends on major too. Actuarial studies is arguably better in Macq. TBH I wouldnt disagree with that because it's kinda true. But everything else in Commerce, UNSW trumps Macq + prob other unis too. Biased much...

    Actuarial Studies...

^its coz he is a tank.

    Actuarial Studies...

Yes. It does lead to IB as well. But I found that people who get into IB tend to be those from Comm/law or Comm/eco or someone who has knowledge of accounting as well. I believe that there is hardly any transferable skill from Actuarial Studies to IB. MC is management consulting.

Is it true that UTS business school is absolutely crap?

agreed! So many people tend to inflate the salary figures by like 100%. Actuary in Big 4 starts high 50k to low 60K while Actuaries in traditional actuarial firms like Tower, Finity, Allianz might start mid 60K to low 70K. If you go banks and get risk management, that might be like 70K (max)...

    cadetships

^ohhh trust me. you cannot get 100-100k with accounting until u get ur CA. and even so, that still takes years... how come all these figures are so inflated by people thesedays?!
