    vectors application (forces?) qn

Here’s some more pulley questions btw just be warned that some of the later ones get pretty hard (plus need some calculus that you mightn’t have learnt this early in yr12?) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hJDBmqK3NZ8eiRvvJQvUiDDzkSRJ1_xr/view?usp=drivesdk

    vectors application (forces?) qn

Cause the net force is like the sum of all the forces (that seems like a bad explanation). like of some object had 2 newtons to the left and 5 newtons to the right, the net force would 3 newtons, right? We get that from 5-2 (because force is a vector quantity we must take direction into account)...

Someone please help with this question Physics Mod 6

You need to consider relativistic effects by using the relativistic momentum formula (on the data sheet) Replace mv in the equation with it and it should work

    vectors application (forces?) qn

I mean look at 2020 q16 after this question our maths department added a bunch of pulley things to their teaching.

    vectors application (forces?) qn

I’ve tried to show my whole thought process here. Lmk if you want some more clarification/explanation. from Newton’s third law (which sorry you’ll just need to memorise for 4u) F = ma where F is the total force (or net force) on an object. if we consider the red block and apply f = ma: F = m x...

    How to limit careless errors?

Yep! Our school does that for a whole class - there was 14 of us I think. (Because it’s a cringe bad boring 99.9% useless subject and is very outdated) edit: sorry Jimmy, in my opinion at least

    How to limit careless errors?

Always check your answers during exams (kinda obvious I know). And for long algebra heavy questions it can often be useful to sub in some random value (like x=5) in the first line of the working and sub the same value into the last line of working. If the number your calculator spits out is...

made a couple equations to estimate aligned marks

alright here's my excel spreadsheet for adv. english, all maths. chem, phys and bio. Includes equations (generally quadratics) and graphs for graphical estimates

made a couple equations to estimate aligned marks

I will have full excel graphs as soon as I can make them (<30 minutes hopefully)

    MQ Co-op Actuarial Studies Interview

(sorry no tips in this) Do you know anyone else at your school that got an interview? And are you ranked first in maths at your school? (Cause the only person who got an interview at my school - a top ten ranked one - is first in maths)
  11. Vall

    Macquarie Co-op

They’ve sent out the interviews / rejections now. The only person in my grade who got an interview is the guy who’s ranked 1st in maths.

    Selective Schools & Band 6's

I think social life is a lot less in selective schools (at least my one). Also no dating at our school as single sex. There is competition a bit but its 99% friendly banter - the top two guys in maths bet each other an anime figurine for who would rank first internally.

    BoS meet up

I’d be down. I’m assuming this would be in Sydney somewhere?

    Physics predictions?

Felt easy and too short (I finished in 1.5hrs). Just worried they mark all the written ones really harshly.

    Physics predictions?

I think all you really need is a ruler. Maybe bring a compass for if they ask "draw the path of this electron through this magnetic field" but I can't imagine you'll lose marks for not having an absolutely perfect semicircle

    Help with a MCQ

    solved now
  17. Vall

    Macquarie Co-op

I haven’t gotten one yet. What’s the bet it gets delayed again 🙃

    Help with a MCQ

Q13 from 2021 PEAK. The answer is given as B

    Math equivalent of strive physics

I’ve seen some pdfs online that people have made collating the HSC Q’s by topic. Maybe try searching for them?
