    Computer Science

It's pretty difficult. You don't need to know much maths, but you will have to do some as part of your Science degree requirements (as Computer Science is typically a major). You will need to learn discrete maths and some courses (algorithms, models of computation) can require math-like problem...

Raw mark for state rank in chem?

I'm not sure about raw in the HSC because I didn't pay the money to get my raw mark back, but you should be aiming 95+ raw in the papers you do. Also, you need to be ranked first in your cohort.

Werid Question? Average Rank Overall? But did Very well in Trials? Influence on ATAR

That's not how it works, sorry. My gf got the highest mark in the state in externals for a subject, but her internal mark was significantly lower because she didn't do as well in her assessments. There was no "messing with the rankings" by the moderating team. Her internal ranks were unchanged.

Werid Question? Average Rank Overall? But did Very well in Trials? Influence on ATAR

Uhhh, that's not how it should work. All your assessments count for some % of your internal mark, which gets aggregated and then ranks you in your cohort. Your school reports this rank to NESA for internal marks moderation. It seems like your school isn't really respecting this and may be...

How do yall get those 'harder' questions at the end of the paper

The whole paper, definitely. You will probably lose more marks from silly mistakes than you will from not being able to do the last question. Unless the questions are completely trivial and just busywork for you, do them all

How do yall get those 'harder' questions at the end of the paper

Hard questions will always use mathematical "tools" that you already know, but perhaps apply them in a slightly novel fashion. You can increase the tools you know and the range of applications just by doing, you guessed it, more hard questions. I used to struggle a lot with the last question of...

Should I get tuition for biology?

Depends, a tutor is not super necessary for the content as if you're motivated enough, it's self-learnable. However, imo the main utility I provide my tutees is really improving their exam technique. I can give them pointers on where to improve their responses, they they are lacking, give them...

Is it too much to ask for a job/career in arts, social science etc etc that pays good, has very good job growth and highly satisfying?

I think you should consider Computer Science (super super in demand, and is really relevant in all of science atm as we are analysing more and more data)

    99.95

Yeah, you could state rank in 4 subjects (8 units) but if you get a really bad mark in your last 2 units, then obviously your ATAR will drop

explain how the immune system responds after primary exposure to a pathogen, including innate and acquired immunity

Yes, talk about the first, second and third line of defense. First line of defense: Briefly mention the role of the skin (physical), tears (chemical) and mucociliary escalator (biological). Second line of defense: Then talk about non-specific response, including macrophages, inflammatory...

    usyd scholarship

They're pretty serious about ECs, but you don't have to be sports captain or 10000 hours of volunteering. They want to see someone who is mature, who has dedicated their time to a passion and who has helped out the community. This can be through music, through sports, through volunteering, but...

    Getting into medicine without UCAT

First of all, it's the UCAT you should be taking. The UMAT was the exam of a couple years ago. I don't think it's that uncommon to do the UCAT in first year uni and your ATAR will still be valid to apply for medicine. You could take a gap year (not recommended unless you are very confident in...

    usyd scholarship

99.90+ is Sydney Scholars with Distinction, where you get 10k p.a instead of 6k p.a. When you get the email confirmation, they will tell you that you have a conditional offer for Sydney Scholars and that your actual payout is dependent on what ATAR you get. However, getting the offer in the...

    usyd scholarship

Yes, if you think you can get 95+, then you are eligible for it. They are focused on character and personality, not your marks specifically. There are plenty of 99.95's getting rejected because this isn't an academic scholarship.

How to juggle all 3 sciences for the HSC?

If you're doing 11 units, it shouldn't be too bad. Someone might have more advice for physics, but for chemistry/biology, just make sure you stay on top of the content as you can fall behind very quickly. Not all the content is assessable from prelim. In fact, assuming you did decently in...

How long does it take to learn prelim syllabus for chemistry and physics?

You can learn all the key points (not all of phys/chem prelim is relevant for the HSC) in a month or so if you're very studious/have a good tutor. However, you need to figure out how to not fall behind because you won't be able to do well if you let yourself go for those subjects in y12.
