Regret Not Choosing Extension 2 Maths

Good luck. Just make sure you catch up during the holidays and you should be good :)

    99.95

I just edited my answer. What I meant by one off is that if you typically perform really well (top 5) and this set of exams was just bad luck, then it would be possible to get to 99.95, albeit with you needing to grind a lot to catch up in rankings. But if you typically score around 80%, then...

    99.95

Unfortunately that's still not enough. You need to rank 1st in a couple of subjects, and top 3 in the rest. Plus you need to do really well in your externals on the day. If your school publishes your aggregate ranking at the end of each year, you could look on their website and check how many...

    Is my handwriting legible?

But, I think this should help, mine was equally bad and I got hella roasted for it. This tip allowed me to write the same, but it was waay more legible. Plus since you're doing your HSC rn, it's a super easy thing to implement (rather than trying to actively change it). Good luck!

    Is my handwriting legible?

I'll be honest, it looks less like handwriting and more like you wrote it with your foot haha

    Is my handwriting legible?

It's pretty bad - write bigger and double space it.

    Feeling Guilty for Being Selfish

Ultimately though, I think it's good that you're aware that you may a bit of an asshole, and are trying to improve. Yes the HSC is hard, yes you are against your peers for internals, but do you seriously think you telling them where you go, or giving them a hand with homework is going to make...

    Feeling Guilty for Being Selfish

You sound pretty insecure. This sort of cutthroat mentality isn't going to let you get very far in the world - school, uni or the workplace. Tbh everyone will hate your guts for it. If you help someone, both of you benefit. They benefit because they now understand it better, you benefit because...

    Tables for Science

Wow hahaha, I recognise some of that handwriting :)

    UQ medicine (graduate)

I believe they use your GAMSAT primarily, and then GPA for tiebreaking. GEMSAS unis instead weight the GPA and GAMSAT equally. So apply to USYD if you crushed the GAMSAT

    UQ medicine (graduate)

If you got a good GAMSAT score, then why don't you apply to USYD? They don't use GPA the same way other GEMSAS unis do

    self teach??

Textbooks, KhanAcademy, The Organic Chemistry Tutor (YouTube), ConquerHSC etc... There's basically unlimited free resources out there, you just need the motivation :) Good luck!

    Anki ??

I used active recall and spaced repetition for the HSC and it worked really well (especially for Chemistry and Biology). I highly highly recommend you do this, but make sure you DO YOUR REVIEWS, otherwise there's no point

(HELP) need help deciding on which uni to pick medical science at + Q's about post grad med

I know this isn't what you asked for but you need to hear this Medical science is a very poor choice of degree if you want to do PG med. 1) It is kinda hard, so will tank your GPA which needs to be high for PG med applications 2) Doesn't even prepare you that well for PG med entry (GAMSAT) as...

    Accidental Plagiarism? ENJOY A ZERO!!!

Who cares if they use the same quotes, what matters is their thesis and analysis.

Do you need tution for phys and chem to get state ranks

No, it mainly comes down to being lucky on the day tbh.
  17. D

    Anki

Yes, good idea. But you should definitely do your own study from the textbook too. The more sources for your notes, the better.

    Tips to improve in science?

Try find something that interests you about it. That will make studying 10x less difficult and 10x more fun

    Chemistry students

Yeah, and work smarter not harder - focus on the areas that you are weak on, not already existing strengths

    Chemistry students

Learn content from multiple sources: teacher, youtube, textbook. Do flashcards to review content. Do HARD questions and get them from a variety of sources because the trial paper questions are typically very similar. I personally used the old syllabus HSC papers. But yeah, grind past papers. I...
