    Business Studies Predictions/Thoughts

Whatever you wish to do, that's the beauty of the 2-3 month holiday you have ... congratulations as well for completing your HSC.

    Proofs Help

I don't think it would be appropriate to use a calculator and justify your answer by those means, as the question would be testing your knowledge and understanding of how to approach it. A calculator can confirm the result for you, but the working out should be a legitimate way (can be one of...

    Units for hsc

Agree ... remember that only around 50 people get a .95 ATAR (specifically 48 last year) out of around 70,000 students in total, so you do have to be at the top of your game.

    one more week until chem

With Module 7, make sure you have a good set of notes on the extensive topics like biofuels and polymers, and I believe saponification (as these can be assessed in a extended response question). Unfortunately, I won't be able to help you with the HNMR and CNMR topics, as I wasn't very thorough...

    Integration q

As said above, make sure to convert back to question form. Students make a common mistake whereby they use a substitution (commonly a 'u' sub or a 'trig' sub), but forget to convert it into x or whatever variable the question has used.

Help me decide what to do with my handwriting D:

Honestly, your type of writing would be a dream or even a miracle for HSC markers to mark; if you can write like this or similar to this in an exam conditions, then that's very well done.

No worries, and good luck choosing your subject selection 👍

    one more week until chem

No worries ... I'm not sure what your strong and weak areas are, but definitely for me, Module 7 and 8 were the most content heavy modules (especially the different functional groups and nomenclature in Module 7 and the different chemical tests in Module 8; make sure you are thorough on these).

    Units for hsc

It really does depend on if you want a backup subject or if you are confident in performing strongly in just 10 units, but I would settle with option 2. Just because you say Physics isn't your best, and it would be better to choose Japanese, even if it doesn't scale as well but you are more...

    one more week until chem

I'd say as there's still a week left, that should be enough time to effectively study for it (will be a lot easier if you don't have other exams; if you do, then it's still feasible). 1) Learn topics/content you are not thorough with first; I see too many students rush into practice papers not...

    Geography Predictions/Thoughts

I have no idea if HSC geography is anything like Year 10 geography, but I loved how it was so chill and all we had to do was work on research tasks the entire year; with no formal written exam or anything.

    Is my handwriting legible?

What I would say to improve the legibility is to try fit the entire letter within the line provided (even if it does have a bottom like p, q, g, etc). The problem is that some of those letters cross over the top of letters in the following line, making it quite difficult to read at times.

What areas of maths should i be focusing on during holidays ?

If you struggle with Perms and Coms, definitely have a look at this; for me, I personally didn't like it as it is a topic which requires a lot of 'creativity' and 'logical thinking'. It really is different from a topic like calculus, where there is a set way for every question (at least...

Who doesn't love football ... apparently, the 2014 World Cup had 3.2 billion viewers (that was like around 45% of the world population back then ... crazy numbers).

    Chemistry Exam Predictions/Thoughts

Unless they change it this year, I don't ever recall seeing a single galvanic cell question in all the trial and practice exams I did last year. I just don't think they will explicitly test Year 11 knowledge, as there is already a lot of Year 12 knowledge to know thoroughly.

    Football discussion thread

Yep, essentially. Don't see them getting top 4 this season; top 3 is confirmed with City, Liverpool and Chelsea (honestly, could end up any order; the title will be very close) but there's teams like Arsenal, West Ham who are definitely fighting for that 4th spot.

What maths should I be taking with physics?

I think getting a tutor going into Year 11 is a really good place to start, because performing well in Year 11 will give you the foundation to then perform well in Year 12. Most often than not, the students who get the top ATARs in a school will have started that routine of studying efficiently...

    Football discussion thread

I still don't see them improving until they get a proper long-term manager, which doesn't look like will be happening soon.

    Biology Predictions/Thoughts

If that's honestly the terminology you have to remember for your exam, then fair play and good luck; wouldn't even know how to say half of them, let alone spell them.

From the letters of the word SHOWDOWN, how many 4-letter words were formed?

So as mentioned above, it's quite lengthy and you can consider the 4 different cases: XXXX, OOXX, WWXX and WWOO. With XXXX, there are 6 different letters and 4 spots to choose for. Thus, 6C4 would be 15 different combinations. Each combination has 4P4 variations (for e.g SHOW, SHWO, SWOH, etc)...
