lol I hate the hsc so much

Lol m8 I came from a pretty crappy school myself... I wasn't the biggest fan of the facilities... but for you to be making this huge generalisation about how kids from less affluent and less academically driven schools are automatically not studying hard... pretty shameful.

That doesn't mean you have to disrespect your parents like that! To OP, parents usually just believe in the capabilities of their children. Don't take it the wrong way, just make sure you are truthful and convey your disappointment. I'm sure they'll soften up. :)
