Series & Sequences (Financial derivatives) question

Hey guys, I never really understood this- but is interest always taken into account last? Or if the question stipulates that they withdrew/deposited money at the end of the month- does this mean that they deposited/ withdrew money after interest? adflkjsa http://imgur.com/dNHJI6k

    Headstart for year 11?

Second this for economics. It gives you a good understanding (and habit) of the current economic situation. Plus, you can figure out now if it's something you don't like and drop it early while you can. (But since you're doing business studies as well, I'm assuming you won't) May help with...

To all 2014/13/12ers: Is this a touchy topic for EE1 creative?

Hahaha, what about asylum seekers? Will that be alright? (thinking of the recent medical protest in Aus. hospital)

To all 2014/13/12ers: Is this a touchy topic for EE1 creative?

Thank you for the reply :) What other issues were you thinking of? I'm hoping to not go down the conventional orthodox/ Christianity conflict. More so traditional villages/ local cultures that reject the minority.

To all 2014/13/12ers: Is this a touchy topic for EE1 creative?

The extent of it is a brief encounter with rejection of the post-modern model by traditional ways of thinking. It's mainly used as a catalyst for disagreement amongst people and their ways of thinking. Having said that- should I stay clear of it?

To all 2014/13/12ers: Is this a touchy topic for EE1 creative?

Hey guys, (pref to those who've done the course before) My elective is Navigating the Global which sorta details the interactions and complexity between traditional and post-modern ways of thinking. One of my creatives centers around gay marriage and its conflict within an individual...

    External Stability

How does the monetary policy influence external stability?

How do you find the margin of error in Newton's method?

Sweet again x) How I've been taught is that my teachers recommend articulating LHS = RHS in 'show' questions (usually subbing or some manipulating, whereas for 'prove' questions, they recommend that I move from LHS to RHS in one direction only. (if that makes sense?) But you're right, it's...

How do you find the margin of error in Newton's method?

Sweet. :) Nah, I was unsure about the jump cos misread Q and thought it was a 'Prove" question (in which case I'm told , we wouldn't be able to do the LHS = RHS thingo. Is that true?) What about this Q? (Perms and combs go over my head unfortunately. Trying to hammer out some before HSC haha)...

How do you find the margin of error in Newton's method?

wait jks jks it's a show, not prove question <> Which means you used the LHS/ RHS thingo right?

How do you find the margin of error in Newton's method?

    Thanks Integrand! :) Quick Q though: how did you go from (x-1)S_1 = x^{2n}-1 to S=\sum_{r=1}^n \binom{n}{r}x^{r+1}=x\left(\sum_{r=1}^n \binom{n}{r}x^{r}\right)?

How do you find the margin of error in Newton's method?

Sweet- thanks Rand :) Mind if you help me solve another Q? Dunno how to get rid of coefficients in binomial: "The real number x is a solution of the equation x^2 -x -1 =0 . Use the binomial theorem to show that the sum S of the series 1+ x+ x^2 +...+x^{2n-1}, where n is an integer \geq 1, is...

How do you find the margin of error in Newton's method?

Thanks Rand :) Few questions: What is f(x)? Is it x=sqrt (a)? Because if so, what's f'(x)? Is that dx/dc or dc/dx?

How do you find the margin of error in Newton's method?

Newton's method is used to find an approximation to the positive root x=\sqrt{c} of the equation x^2-c=0. The initial approximation is x=a $(for some a>0).$ The error in this initial approximation is e_0 = |a-\sqrt{c}|. Show that the error e_1 in the next approximation (obtained by one...

Likelihood they ask for 2 related texts?

TBH for lazy people out there, just use your EE1 related to double up. Or even Mod C's related. Literally every text fits into discovery and different teachers would be marking each essay.

Procrastinating English so hard...should english be replaced with philosphy?

Yes, but it would be a bit redundant in your case because Philosophy has the potential to be even more subjective/ 'non-standardised' as it's generally based upon an individuals' personal values and beliefs. Both subjects require to you to construct an argument and to provide evidence to argue...

Mod C; to learn all, or 2

Take a look at the BOSTES past papers. That should clear up any confusion. 2014: http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/2014/pdf_doc/2014-hsc-english-p2-adv.pdf Basically, all the questions for all texts would follow a general 'theme' but the specifics of each question would be...
