    Heeeeeeelp

T100 is good but there are a few problems with it- some teachers aren't very dedicated, it is very much overpriced, it is group tutoring (not matter how small the classes may be, it is still no where near as good as 1 on 1) and most importantly; only 1 thing can determine whether you do well or...

    HSC 2013 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon @Sy123: I can do \int\frac{\sin(2n)x}{\sin x}\ dx but couldn't do your one :( give me a hint please! By the way, does it have to do with expressing the sum in terms of euler's identity? i.e. the real part of: e^2ix+e^4ix + ... + e^4nix (which I don't think is within the...

Are notes essential for a 97+ atar?

It really depends on what you find more efficient.

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

Do you think they are doable in around 20 mins? Most people who state rank in mx2 have at least 1 hour for the last 2 questions. So far I get only around 7 questions done in 3 hours lol

Year 12 2013 Chit Chat Thread

How long does it take you to do the first 3 questions in MX2 (Old format)? I find the best way to do tedious conics questions fast is by thinking of a method for solving the question first then start the algibra work because sometimes if you just start doing the algebra then realise something is...

Taking efficient notes in lectures/study notes

Isn't biology a rote-learning subject :P (it is in high school, don't know about uni).

Taking efficient notes in lectures/study notes

Try to develop your critical thinking skills. It is very essential, especially for BSc. Critical thinking is understanding what is going on and always looking for reasoning for why things happen, why is this answer correct and the other answer is not etc... It is the opposite of rote-learning.

Last movie you watched? And what you thought of it?

Life of Pi: visually stimulating sometimes but there was too much religion... Wreck-It Ralph: unless you are <14 then it isn't for you.

    Life...is HARD

I would have given you advice if you typed: "How should I study?" and cut the crap.

    School assessments being too easy?

I would love to know the BOS's reasoning behind this. I don't get their logic and the way they think... they should just give up and copy Finland's education system (don't hate me please). The people they produce at school are what ultimately determines the future of the country so why not...

    School assessments being too easy?

I am not annoyed by the assessments being too easy because it is affecting me but I am just discussing what can be improved about the education system in Australia in general. When I say the assessments are too easy I don't mean they are exactly easy. What I mean is that most students can do...

    School assessments being too easy?

That will destroy good students at "disadvantaged schools" Some students may be unlucky and couldn't make it into a selective school for a multitude of reasons. There are a lot of students at low ranked schools who have the potential to state rank, like that girl who came 6th in phys in 2012...

    School assessments being too easy?

It is too slow :( If you manage to make Computer Modern the default font on word it will look exactly like latex :)
