    Chemistry textbook

Jacaranda is good but extremely detailed and goes way beyond the syllabus at times. Conquering is better but not perfect. Why don't you use jacaranda + conquering + notes from top students to make your own notes, i.e. take the best into from the textbooks and notes and put them in your own notes?

    School assessments being too easy?

Is it possible for the student to do anything about this issue? If the school assessments are not as difficult as the syllabus allows it to be can the student do anything, i.e. talk to the teachers, etc? This is happening at my brothers school and all the students, dumb and smart, are getting...

    how to study for maths

Yeah, you are right. some people accelerate 3U and do very well in it lol :( I was just talking about my very unreliable personal experience + opinion haha

    how to study for maths

Yeah, I am starting to experience a similar thing. The people at my school who don't do 4U maths but do 3U struggle with it a lot. It is like the 4U people learn much more advanced stuff that the 3U content becomes the basics to them, it is like even though 4U is difficult they adapt to the...

    how to study for maths

Don't worry about school, I am like light years ahead of school and I attend a very competitive school. Shitty schools will use the worst textbook in the world, Maths in Focus. Why would they use it? Because it is simple but maths extension is not meant to be simple.

    how to study for maths

Extension maths can be surprisingly difficult for some people, mostly narrow minded people who follow everything there teacher tells them (don't hate me, I'm just saying). Average students would do homework from primary till year 10 and when they get good marks they think they are geniuses and...

    UMAT Tuition - Section III

Kurt and Yash are very cheap compared to other UMAT teachers (a lot of tutors charge like $50 per hour)

    Question:

I think it is too late to change from strictly ballroom to skrzynecki. I will think about it though, if I really want to do F/B I will probably write an essay for skrzynecki for the HSC.

    Question:

Browning is the worst and most unpopular text :( But yeah, I will listen to my teacher, thank you riproot :)

    Question:

Is it true that I have to do diffirent text types for each module? I am doing a film for aos, poetry for a, speeches for b and shakespeare for c but I want to do Franken/Blade for mod A and my teacher said I can't because this way I will have two prescribed texts that are the same type. Is that...

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive Yeah, I just looked at all the notes and none of them say it is slower. I don't know where I got that from lol. But as you said, if both reactions are at "standard" conditions addition is probably faster. By the way, what are you going to major in for the...

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive I think the proper name for the catalyst is "zeolite- porous crystalline aluminosilicate" It is true that the catalyst lowers the energy required from 850 to 500 but but catalytic cracking cannot decompose large alkanes into ethylene completely so it is...

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive I know for sure that addition polymers are faster because multiple chains can form at the same time and then join together in the termination stage but 1 or two of my notes say condensation is faster which got me confused.

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive Yeah, I don't think it is wrong to say it is a synthetic polymer because there are three types of polymers covered in the HSC, natural, bio and synthetic but it is still not wrong not to say synthetic.

who is good in math/science but SHIT AT ENGLISH?

I think I am relatively good at English (I have a tutor though) but I like maths and science (I like science more than maths).

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive Does anyone know if addition polymerisation is faster or slower than condensation? I am getting mixed answers from my notes...

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive Ethylene undergoes polymerisation where its double bonds are opened up with suitable catalysis and conditions, providing extra bonding capacity which is used to bond each monomer, a process called addition polymerisation. The most important product of this...

    HSC 2013 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon If you are given parametric coordinates can you just ignore them and use the general tangent instead? Make the equation of the general tangent a quadratic in terms of m then since they are perpendicular the product of roots = -1 and the locus is a circle with radius...
