    Considering the average relative to the difficulty of the paper, I think last year's and this year's are roughly equal in strength. They will. The process is bottlenecked by solutions but we already have all the data ready to go. For MX2 Avg 2013: 44.7 Avg 2014 39.7 Avg 2015: 38.6

    We've finished marking Extension 2 and are just finalising solutions/criteria/comments etc now. We're nearly done with 2U as well.

    He is trying to prove the conjugate root theorem for polynomials of degree 2. Stating the theorem to prove it is a bit redundant. Your response would be more appropriate for a question styled as "Explain why ....", not "Show that ..." Yes.

    Start with the given expression and conjugate both sides. From there, use your conjugate rules to slowly 'spread' the conjugate symbol across all terms to obtain the required result.

    We considered it, but didn't get anything nice out of it. But notice that the 2U and 3U probability questions were 'game' questions (about having a run of length K), which is similar in flavour I suppose.

    Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon No? Tabular integration by parts is mechanically identical to repeated applications of integration by parts. It just arranges things in a neater manner (the table) that makes the iterations a lot cleaner to work with.
