for unsw, doing a diploma of language is pretty much equivalent of doing a major in a language (as in the courses u do). I've only done chinese at UNSW and its pretty good. its hard work if you want to learn it properly, i.e. grinding through remembering the words/characters/meanings. but theres...

dont need any knowledge of math1231. i did math1081 in first semester at the same time as math1141. you don't even need math1131/1141 for math1081.
