How hard is the final exam?

it is tough if you just did 2unit. For MATH1131 as long as you can do the basic questions in each topic you'll be fine. But you have to make sure you can do this. The questions you get won't be very hard, it's more about testing your knowledge on each topic you learnt. Do the questions in the...

Starting in Semester 2... Confused about the courses (subjects)?

You can do the subjects in any semester as long as its offered. But e.g. for Maths, you need to do MATH1131/1141 before you do MATH1231/1241. and as unsw maths guru suggested, you should do MATH1131 in semester 2 and MATH1231 over the summer. This is because MATH1231 isn't offered in Semester...

So What Can You Do Until March 31st? ....

You can drop to a lower level, but you'd need to ask the school to do it for you. You MAY be able to pick up courses if you have a really good reason why you weren't enrolled, and you'd need them to enrol you.

Can a KENSINGTON student do a course (as gen ed) at COFA campus ?

Yes you can. However, keep in mind you will have to take a bus to the campus (which is fine just make sure you don't have class immediately before at the main campus). Good luck! ps: you could also do a language instead, that doesn't have essays but I guess you need to put in the time for that.

    Last day for dropping

no, you have until the 31st to withdraw without academic or financial penalty.

    Changing my degree

if u hate scif after one week, u wont like it. u can drop it and pick up another subject. preferably before Sunday, i don't think you can enrol yourself after that (you can get course authorities to but thats a hassle) and dont worry, even if drop to com/sci and decide you want to do honours...

What is the Talented Students Program?

the kids who do it (if any) would/should know a lot more than just 1st/2nd year stuff. i.e. they would be doing their own readings on stuff during/after high school and learning their subject/field by themselves.

How hard you have to work for HD's?

unsw lets up to 10% get HD's. Yeah, to get HD, you pretty much "know" everything more or less. If you get a Pass, in most cases, you know only the real basics.

is it harder to get a higher gpa in some degrees than others?

the "standard" you talk about would be hard to set. How would you know if it's too easy or too hard. Of course, the scaling/percentile system is flawed in some ways too, but at least it maintains consistency somewhat from year to year. E.g. if the standard was too low, and say, 50% of the...
