This is quite an interesting question and originally came in one of those AMC competitions, like around Q13 so its not meant to be that hard. Just express 2^1000 and 10^something and then you know that 10^1 has 2 digits, 10^2 has 3 and so on.

I do all three and that's around about right. The thing with chem and phys is that as you progress through the subject, you realize that there is an underlying unity in nature. Biology is just memorising stuff though.

I did 12 for all my SC's. For maths, the guy who sat next to me brought one of those pencils that you get in art, the ones where the entire thing is graphite. He finished the exam and colored in the entire table and then made the examiners clean it.

At Cambridge university the mathematics faculty come under art and not science.
