    Math Q

Thanks so much for all of that, it's just that, the cream behind the sugar coating was a little bit foggy. I just didn't understand the basics. Thanks to you, now I have. Thanks so much. Cheers, Axwe7

    Math Q

Yep, that's right! TBH, I never knew it's that simple... However, are you sure that that is the right method?

    Math Q

Need help with (a) and (b), Cheers, Axwe7.

    Math Q

Figured that one around about 3 minutes after I started the post. Thanks so much btw.

    Gotcha, thanks for the help!
  8. axwe7

    Simple question.

Gotcha thanks, So basically, root z cannot be equal to any real numbers?
  9. axwe7

    Simple question.

Hmm, it's not necessarily a question, sorry for the lapse of word choice. I'll edit the attachment.
  10. axwe7

    Simple question.

I'm finding this a bit hard to understand.. Cheers, Axwe7.

    Math Q

Hahah, yeah, just did, my message was posted a bit late, idk why. Just one last question, why does this relate to how a number can be written in a fractional form or if it can't. How is that the determining factor of the values of a and b?
  12. axwe7

    Math Q

    Understood, thanks.

    Math Q

So I actually don't need any working out, I could just state that a= A and b=B? I did the question with working out, and I also stated the contradiction, however there is not contradiction as the question doesn't say that root x is irrational,

    Math Q

Just do the last question - (f) What I wanted to know, was that do I have to prove that root x is rational, and thereby prove a contradiction to find the values of a and b or do I just correspond the pronumerals with their respective values? Cheers, Axwe7

    Math Q

Thanks to everyone for the help.

    Math Q

    Thanks.

    Math Q

    Wow, thanks so much!

    Math Q

Help needed with all 4 questions. Thanks. Edit 1: The first question is a bit hard to read, but it's 3+ 1/a1

    Irrational Numbers, help needed.

Why is it that 2 + {\sqrt {3}} is irrational? [Hint: Begin by saying; Suppose 'x = 2 + {\sqrt {3}}', then continue by subtracting 2 from both sides]. The hint was included in the question... BTW, {\sqrt {3}} is irrational, I've already proven that.
