This is not true. I was doing MX1 through Sydney Distance Ed where I came first internally. And I was NOT ranked against students at other distance education schools because different schools made totally different assessment tasks.

essay > creative writing > short answer for me. I would usually start off with the essay because I probably would have forgotten the whole memorised essay by the time I finished the other two sections.

I would suggest you to compare your copy (2010 Edition) with the newest one in a bookshop (sneakily) so that you can save money while keeping up with more recent statistics. That's what I usually do :P

I don't know if this is a good example but I heard that someone from Baulko in 2009 got an ATAR of 99.95 with state rankings in three humanities subjects (can someone confirm this please?).

Yes, I think you should drop to Senior Science. Since I failed Physics (~40%) and Chemistry (~35%) in Year 11, I just dropped both of them yesterday to Senior Science. It's not that I found Physics and Chemistry difficult, but I was just not motivated to pay attention in class and to do homework...

LOL@ my sciences... Since I already decided to drop to Senior Science, I even couldn't be bothered to do the papers and had pretty much 70% of the questions unanswered in both exams. Luckily, these were not regarded as 'non-serious' attempts by the teachers or I would get in trouble :P HAHA...

If you enjoy and do well in both subjects, then drop the one more negatively affecting your ATAR that is Legal Studies.
