UTS BIT CO-OP vs. UNSW CO-OP SENG

Haha well, UNSW has plenty of good lecturers, but also has its fair share of not-so-great lecturers.

UTS BIT CO-OP vs. UNSW CO-OP SENG

No problem, I'm glad I can help ^_^ For SENG would you know how the learning environment is? (e.g. is it all in a lecture theatre or some small classrooms/labs and groupwork?) I'm not sure if you mean the SENG courses or the degree overall. If you're referring to the SENG workshops, I'm not...

    ENGG1000 for Comp Sci

Hm well if INFS1602 grabs you, then do it. But INFS courses are reputedly very boring and dull, and you'd probably be better off doing a COMP course/something else. You could do another science course, if you like physics you could try that (although it's very different from high school). Some...

    Enrolments for high school leavers

    ENGG1000 for Comp Sci

D94 is right - computer science students can't enrol until after a certain date. So you can do it, if you can manage to get a spot in it. However - I wouldn't recommend doing ENGG1000. My friends who have done it didn't think highly of the subject, and mentioned that they'd rather have done a...

    B IT or B CST

They are fundamentally the same. They may have a difference in core course here or there, but I believe the main purpose of the different degrees is to make students feel like they aren't wasting their ATAR (i.e. would you feel better if you got an ATAR of 97 and took a course with an ATAR of...

UTS BIT CO-OP vs. UNSW CO-OP SENG

    1. As with any UNSW CSE course no, you are not expected to be able to program before you start the course. 2. according to http://www.coop.unsw.edu.au/future_students/downloads/files/ITmodel.pdf, SENG has two holiday placements and two approximately half-year placements. With respect to the...

Some questions about uni [unsw], please helpp :)

I should add on, you don't need the textbook for MATH11[34]1 nor MATH12[34]1.

UTS BIT CO-OP vs. UNSW CO-OP SENG

Congrats on getting offers for both :) Before you read what I say, you should know I'm from UNSW and doing computer science (co op) - so I'll be biased. I'm also not favourably disposed towards UTS BIT, so keep that in mind. I have a couple of friends doing UTS BIT Coop, so I can speak a little...

Has anyone done any gen-ed courses online? How was it?

Friend of mine says psychology of work was boring (and he didn't recommend it)

    UNSW Subject Reviews.

I don't see many COMP reviews so I guess I'll stop lurking and post. Semester 1 COMP2121 (Microprocessors and Interfacing) Ease: 7/10. If you put in the effort then it's quite okay :) Content: 7/10. Some of the content was interesting, like interfacing with peripherals, but some of it was...

    FEAS Access Scheme

If you get 91+ yes, you get in normally. Similarly if you get two bonus points from physics and an ATAR of 89/90, you'll get in on the basis of that and not FEAS.

    Software engineering EAS?

Maybe consider UNSW's FEAS (Faculty of Engineering Admissions Scheme), it's possible to get in with an ATAR of >= 81. I know a few of my friends made it into engineering because of this scheme.

    Double Degrees?

If it doesn't specify which type of engineering, you can pick any discipline within it (so in your case, civil :)) B Science means you can't actually pick Advanced Mathematics, only a normal mathematics major (if I understand correctly). If you wanted a double in engineering with advanced...

    MATH1231 or MATH1241, difference?

Hmm, probably exam marks then. My bad.

    MATH1231 or MATH1241, difference?

There were students who got 100 in MATH1131. Tutor swore that the highest mark for MATH1141 was lower than that. Maybe my tutor lies, but I'll certainly believe him on the students getting 100 as some others in my tute agreed

    MATH1231 or MATH1241, difference?

According to my maths tutor, the exam marks for 1141 were scaled up; however, not a huge amount. The highest mark in 1141 was also not quite as high as that for 1131.

    Coop Interview

Ah okay. No idea how many interviews are conducted, sorry - there are statistics for high school leavers but not for those already in uni. No problem, good luck!

    Coop Interview

Mmm. Even if you're not confident, act confident. :P It works wonders in the way you appear to them. And don't forget to make eye contact - not necessarily I'm-going-to-kill-you eye contact, but just so that you're not looking down and stuff. Your voice doesn't across so well when that happens...

    Coop Interview

For me, they generally asked questions similar to what was on the co op application. (congrats on getting an interview, by the way!) For example, "why are you interested in computer science?" or "give us an example of a leadership role you've had". My answers were similar to that on the...
