Any Tips for current year 11

I take 11 cause ext maths and I like that because if I fail one of my two unit subjects it won't completely count. 10 units means you have more time to spend on those 10 units, 12 units allows space for error, but one of those subjects won't count anyway.

Any Tips for current year 11

TRUTH. PLEASE DON'T BE A WALKING ZOMBIE. Read strawberrye's guide it's great for answering most of your questions. In Year 11, there is a noticeable shift in work, most people don't get settled until week 8/9 of term 1, but really, keep on top of homework and revision and you'll be getting...

    Year 11 - A bit nervous, a few questions.

Year 11 is definitely quite a step up from year 10, but if you keep on top of your homework each week it's not that bad. More content is taught per period than in year 10, as duh there's only 3 terms. Similarly to sida, we had some prelim maths ext stuff tested in the first HSC ext1 test...

What to buy for Year 11 - Books, folder??

Honestly, grid books are more expensive than lined pages, and it's bad practice to draw graphs in grid books because in the HSC you don't get grid pape, you get lined. So it's best to start practicing graphs without grids now. Also there's only a few topics in which graphs are drawn anyway.

    Same subjects anybody??

If you like memorising facts about biology, do biology. It's half decent and for me it's better than doing other courses- personal preference. Yeah we use maths in focus (bleh) even though our schools ranked like 50 this year (usually around 70)

    Subjects Review

The first term of Prelim English was quite the jump that I was expecting, but in no way prepared for. After about Week 8, I picked myself up again from wallowing in misery over how much work I had to do to catch up to my peers, and just got on with it. Perseverance is key! Otherwise, Ext. Maths...

    Same subjects anybody??

I wish I was told that English was compulsory lol. JK I already knew but it's seriously a pain in the ass. English took up the bulk of my studying, easily 40% of it, and it paid off, I ranked 9th in the grade. Everything else had the other 60% to contend for my attention. So I guess time...

Ahaha might as well choose a life skill course if you can :P Yeah definitely for me too! Only the people doing English Ext.2 might not be freaked out.

    How many notebooks?

For maths I use 64 page books for theory and 128 page books for class work/revision. I like it that way so it's easy to find where notes are for topics as each book can't have more than 3 topics in it at once. It also cuts down on how much unnesscary paper you have to take to school if you use...

How many books do I need for year 11?

I'd get a folder for music because of all the scores one accumulates- one score per sleeve works well. But book wise 128 Exercise book and a separate manuscript book.

Which 2 of these 4 Units should I keep?

You've got at least another six months to decide really, and hopefully you know that MX2 is a year 12 course (perhaps you're accelerating) so it doesn't count toward year 11 units. What do you intend to do later in life? I do chemistry, and I find it fascinating, but I love all aspects of the...

What to buy for Year 11 - Books, folder??

Believe me, I was exactly like you last year with the folder/book dilemma! Using a folder typically makes your carry load lighter as you can easily take out sheets of paper you don't need at school anymore, whilst using books means you're carrying 100 pages everyday, regardless if they're...

How to cope with 3 Unit Maths?

Well.. I'd revise your year 10 maths to make sure that's down pat and solid, so when you go into year 11 you'll be all set to learn new things that build upon those skills learnt in year 10. Algebra and indices are the things you really need to know by heart. Though in full honesty, don't...

Notes - Handwritten or Typed Up?

Handwritten notes are good for making sure you remember stuff, but it takes so much more time than typing. But typing, you don't recall the information as quickly. So perhaps do a combination of both? I type up all my notes, and then hand write the important stuff I need to remember
