How is the 'budget outcome' a tool of fiscal policy? Topic #4

If the budget is in deficit then you can have political fights where a 'debt emergency' panics the country into saving up for a Divinely-induced recession. Falls in aggregate demand will almost always spell trouble for the economy.

How is loan recorded on Balance of Payments?

Loans are paid back but investments are not. Investments are treated as assets, so there is no 'reversible part' to begin with. If they want to liquidate their share (which must be above 10%) then the company can buy its shares back, so it will be treated as a debit on the financial account.

    Stats necessary in short answers?

Yes. You must have stats. But they can be very general - basics like the economic growth or GDP figures are ok.

    Preparing for econ essays

If you're good at short-answers, then essays should be very easy... it is just 5 short answers packed into one. If you plan your essay thoroughly, it becomes very manageable. Try and look at it differently.

    CSSA Economics Marks

    97. Got the damned tafe question wrong.

    Essay question

I would structure the essay in terms of protection methods rather than types of economies.

    CSSA Modern History Exam thoughts?

That question was as easy as they come, frankly.

"The selective school that has abolished exams. Yes, really"

I completely agree with the Principal. He will be gloriously vindicated by history. Latham et al. have no concept of what kind of pressure kids really feel under those kind of environments. And this method, I can see, will be make for a far, far better distinction between the pathetic robots and...

    Why do we study English?

The purpose is to expose you to culture and values. If you bother to read the annotations that people from the Board write, you'll see they make note of the cultural significance of the texts and what value students will see in that text to enlighten their own understanding of their own culture...

    2015 CSSA Paper Thoughts

It said something like which government policy will lead to a lower non-accelerating inflation rate of unemployment (NAIRU). The only two options I remember were increasing spending on TAFE and increased economic growth (or it might have been govt. spending).

    2015 CSSA Paper Thoughts

What did everyone put for the NAIRU multiple choice question? An almost identical question was discussed at length in the Marathon thread. I remember picking the TAFE option and then changing my mind.

    Poems

Do not go gentle into that good night Dylan Thomas, 1914 - 1953 Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do...

What time do you sleep at?

It takes me a long time to get through the content I would like to on weeknights so I get around 6-7 hours sleep ordinarily. During the holidays - when I get to catch up - I sleep for 11-13 hours.

Can someone please explain this Question?? Stuck on understanding it

The question focuses on context. My interpretation is this: "Explore how time and place are used in the prescribed speeches" 1) Find points in the speeches where the person speaks about their views on the world they live in and how they relate the events occurring around them to the past -...

    CSSA Legal Studies Thoughts

I found it ludicrous we had to write two pages on the importance of non-legal responses in relation to a contemporary issue. Terrible 8 marker. What was the last multiple choice? Did that have to do with the Human Rights Commission? Short answers were Name two rights embedded in the...

    Syntax for anaphora

Perhaps you could use the ditto mark to signify a repetition. i.e. "A barrier of suspicion. (") of rejection. (") of fear of deception."

Newspaper viewing in relation to prefered party

The Conversation. Labor. If I had to choose between The Telegraph and SMH I'd choose the latter, obviously.
