    Double Majors worth it?

Agreed, it's only longer, not harder. You still take the same amount of courses per semester as everyone else, the only difference is you're just at uni for 5 or 6 years as opposed to 4. I'd recommend it; more opportunities and uni life is pretty great so there's nothing wrong with learning for...

    UNSW Subject Survival Guides

PHYS1131/21 - Ask any engineering/science student, this is the biggest pain in the ass subject with huge failure rates. 1. Do the problem sets they give you. Most likely, you'll only get the easy ones right on first go. That's fine. 2. Check the worked solutions that are on moodle. When I got...

PHYS1131 and MATH1141, is it too much?

Hey, i'm thinking of doing PHYS1131 (higher) but I also meet the requirements of doing MATH1141 (I got 95 in MX1 and 91 in MX2(99.00atar)) I was wondering how manageable the workload would be with both the higher courses of these subjects...and if it is manageable, is it worth the scaling...

    MATH1131 or MATH1141?

How much harder will MATH1141 and Higher physics PHYS1131 be compared to doing MATH1131 and PHYS1131?

    Share your 2013 ATAR here

99.00 Was capable of 99.3+ but I'm ~4 points above the 2012 cutoff for my desired course so I chilled a bit after trials. All g glad it's over and in 3 months none of us will give a damn about our atars anyway.

    "Collect past papers"

I printed mine at officeworks. IIRC it's quite cheap and you can also ask for the papers to be bound together for an extra price since most papers are too thick for staples. Alternatively, print so that 4 or 6 "pages" fit on a single A4 sheet.

    Chemistry paper & Option

Wouldn't it depend on whether it was dilute or concentrated?

Physics vs biology in terms of amount of content?

Physics has far less content, but is harder to understand/wrap your head around. Once you understand it, though, and have memorised key bits of info to bring you into the b6 range, it is a high-scaling breeze. Biology is plain memorising/rote learning, and is for the most part conceptually very...

    Multiple Choice

I was tossing up between the two, as well But the question said "used in the manufacture" not "used as a material for the cup" therefore, cellulose is ALWAYS USED IN THE MANUFACTURE because you obtain the polyethylene FROM cellulose. So i put D (cellulose polymer). You can have paper/cardboard...

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Extension 1

Looking at carrotsticks solutions, I'm pretty sure I got 62/70. Would that scale to a 95? 96 or 97?

    Dat circle geo

You could assume BTA was a straight line, yes? Then go on to prove the tangent/alternate segment angle etc to get QTP is a straight line? The line they gave us was straight i'm pretty sure.

    Question 11

    2^24 i believe?

    Question 16

dat meconics. Probably got 7/15. IMO Q16 was easier than past Q16/Q8s..however the rest of the paper was harder.

    Section I - Multiple Choice

    1b 2a 3d 4a 5b 6(?) 7c 8c 9b 10d (guess) Forgot what i put for 6, pretty sure it's D though but i just did it now. revs per minute = 100pi v=rw r=5, (period = 2pi/w) period was given so w =20pi First time I've seen a pure circular motion q in a HSC paper lols.

    Conclusion for Induction

Because otherwise if you couldn't do the question all you have to write is "hence true by mathematical induction" and still get 1 mark by doing nothing.
  18. B

    quantity vs quality

Quality + max 5 words per line.

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

That's just the vibe that's given off. ATAR is barely relevant to your life. It makes your first year of uni slightly less stressful because you won't have to transfer but that's it.
