And so I turned on my new PC...

yeah I know that. The metal has to physically touch the floor. but like why the fuck wouldn't a PC professional do it. Edit: because I am touching the ground, can electricity be grounded through me? right? highly relevant...

And so I turned on my new PC...

Lol did the guy in the video have it connected to a power outlet? i thought the case could ground the charge by using it's rubber feet, or becasue it's on a wooden desk. Deadset i saw a video on youtube, some guy was installing is parts on CARPET! wtf. I hope the mobo is broken lol, the CPU cost...

And so I turned on my new PC...

yeah you'll be good, if not, just dust yourself off and get back up again. Sometimes, things in life involve risks. This has certainty served as a learning experience for me. Although I have previously disassembled and assembled a old computer, but never done it before for a new computer, apart...

And so I turned on my new PC...

All fans are tightly secure and running. I don't hear any beeps when the BIOS boots. :( (1 beep is for successful boot). is it worth buying one of those anti static wrist straps now? (go to 6:30, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls for old school method of static discharge) btw, my CPU...

And so I turned on my new PC...

I was tapping the back of my case to discharge any static throughout every step. I have a feeling it's more of a CPU / Mobo failure. The only reason I can think of, is that maybe i pressed to hard to insert the PCI power connectors onto the card, or the CPU screwed up due to the forceful...

And so I turned on my new PC...

And this came up http://i.imgur.com/LjmkZ.jpg A bunch of lines just appear at the top. But before this happens the Gigabyte name appears in that same spot. And whenever I hit an option, the screen freezes and does nothing. What's wrong?

CPU latch won't close with ease!?

Hi there, So I got my parts today, and correctly followed all instructions, carefully placing the CPU into the CPU socket on my Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3, but the latch will not lock into place with ease. It requires a lot of forced pressure, and I hear a "squeezing friction" sound between the CPU and...

    Samsung make tanky phones.

My Touch 2nd gen, rarely gets hot. It will get warm for intensive 3D games, but never hot that it's uncomfortable to hold - unless it's been running the game for several hours straight.

    Samsung make tanky phones.

Lol I've always wondered, when the time would come for mobile devices to contain fans or some sort of cooling system.

    Anyone not going to schoolies?

ahaha pretty much me, except I'm 18. *Also my friends are too poor, don't have Ps, no cars. So it would be virtually impossible to go any ways.

    Uts vs usyd

UTS combines theory with MANDATORY practical exp. Employers will look for practical experience when you apply for jobs. Not having any under your belt may make it much more difficult to secure a job. Usyd Is purely theory and work exp is up to yourself to organise. When you go for an interview...

    Scholarship Shortlist

No, they judge it purely on your application you sent in (i.e personal statements and your form). (It even said that in the letter). And most likely your UAC preferences. HSC marks and ATARs are not finished yet.

    B Science in Games Development

Hmm doesn't really matter, if you're good, you'll get hired. (i.e you have a a range of portfolios to show them of impressive work). Uni = Cheaper ~7 grand a year, holidays, longer duration (1 - 3 years longer), depending if you combine your degree etc), ATAR required. Private college =...

Are men and women actually equal?

There is the Anti-discrimination Act - Sex (1975), to keep both genders as equal when employers hire candidates. (but in the real world not every employer will be fair, causing disputes).

    Software Engineering vs. IT

ahah I did the same coding in year 10 as well. Started off on VB6 just coding what the teacher told us to make, e.g. calculators, image randomises and counters (clocks), but we were basically copying it off a website. Also did a bit of HTML coding in year 11, although the authoring software...

    Gaming Computer

aren't there bugs with sli configs every time a new game comes out? I always see bug fixes in the updates for sli configs. - I could be slightly wrong about this though. And doesn't the game have to support it? i remember when games had the option to enable sli/crossfire.
